Discovery

In the living room, a fox was staring out the window while a gorgeous teenager was sitting on the couch with an innocent expression.

"I'm not apologizing I have to use that restroom, and if your shits are anything similar to dogs then you definitely should be doing that outside." Echo said in a matter of a fact tone.

"Shut up! Don't talk about my business!" Nyx snapped back without looking back.

"Sigh~ anyway how the hell did you know I was in the restroom!?" Nyx asked.

"It was just an idea, I thought since I can teleport and travel to different locations; why not try sensing the location around me. So I simply coated the floor below me and immerged it into the floor and started expanding it until I could sense the whole house...

Honestly, I didn't think it would work." Echo exclaimed.

Thankfully Echo couldn't see Nyx's expression because if he could he would see the amount of shock and disbelief on Nyx's face.

'An idea? An idea!? A fucking idea!!' Nyx's mind was in turmoil, he honestly wanted to punch Echo dead in his face but was conflicted.

"Rustle~ Rustle~"

Both were interrupted by the sudden noise coming from the couch.

Nyx looked back to the couch while Echo turned his head to the side.

The cat started waking up as it started opening its eyes until they fully opened and started looking around, before making eye contact with Nyx and Echo.

"HIIISSSSSSS~" The cat jumped back and started hissing at them.

Echo and Nyx didn't react and simply stared at the cat.

As the cat was hissing at them he finally recognized both of them and stopped hissing out of pure fear.

Echo leaned towards the cat and picked it up startling the cat but it didn't dare move.

Echo simply put the cat on his lap and started stroking it while the cat was sweating pure buckets.

"We should take him to the vet for a check-up, especially since he won't do anything since he's scared shitless." Echo could see that the cat was scared of them hence it was perfect to take him to the vet.

"I know you checked him but it wouldn't hurt to take him to the vet just in case."

"...Mmhmmm that's tr-" suddenly Nyx realized what Echo just said.

"You want me to go with you!?" Nyx said flustered.

"Yeah, I can't trust whether you'll take a shit in my bathroom again..." Echo said mockingly while petting the cat.

"Stop bringing it up!!" Nyx said frantically.

Echo just chuckled but seeing how angered, and flustered Nyx was he decided to stop.

"Fine, I'll buy you food, anything you want~" Echo decided to sweeten the deal.

Nyx's whole body froze when Echo mentioned food.

In the streets, whether it be male or female, all of them turned their head in awe and admiration.

A lot of females took pictures.

Walking past everyone, was Echo holding the cat in his arms, while Nyx walked beside him.

It was a perfect opportunity for females to take a picture of Echo, and feign it as taking a picture of the fox who is Nyx.

Echo knew they were secretly taking pictures of him, but he didn't mind it or more precisely didn't care.

"Umm... excuse me... I... I wa...was... I was wondering if... you had a girlfriend?!" a girl asked as she shyly stopped in front of him looking at her own feet.

Echo halted in front of her, "... Yes, fortunately, I do."

The girls' shoulders dropped in disappointment but she still bowed, "Sorry for bothering you." she said as she walked off in embarrassment.

Echo didn't mind and continued walking.

Though Nyx was a different story.

'This bastard! I only got stares, and looks when I was human! He has women simply walking towards him!' Nyx sneered in his mind.

As all three were walking, someone just happened to see everything.

"Echo?" Eun mumbled as he stopped walking.

As he looked at Echo he found him holding something in his arms, Eun looked closer and saw he was holding a cat.

'The cat...!'

Eun then thought of a past moment when they lost the cat, his master told him there might be a tracker on them.

'He can't be...' Eun thought as he watched Echo get farther and farther.

- Ding~!

Echo and Nyx walked to an animal hospital to be met by a timid-looking middle-aged man.

"Oh! Echo! What are you doing here so late?" The middle-aged man asked, his voice full of confidence, a total contrast to his appearance.

Echo didn't say anything and handed the cat to the doctor.

The doctor didn't say anything about his behavior as he seemed used to it and started looking at the cat.

"Follow me." The doctor said as he brought Echo and the cat to the counter, while Nyx roamed the office.

"Everything looks okay, he has a good piece of meat on his belly, good reactions, bones seem to be in place; perfectly healthy!" the doctor exclaimed as he examined the cat.

Echo nodded in appreciation.

"Actually... when did you start taking in foxes?" The doctor asked as he turned his head and saw Nyx sniffing the floor.

Nyx stopped as his body trembled, he cursed his body for acting on movement once more in his mind.

Echo just chuckled, as he turned his head at a certain door and even though covered in pure darkness he could see it perfectly.

"Your treatment room is full..." Echo finally spoke as he still stared at the room, full of injured cats as a few whimpered in their sleep.

"Sigh... they are all very badly injured, and some with possible mental scarring. They just leave the animals in front of the clinic with some money..." The doctor admitted.

Something piqued Echo's interest, "Leaving? Someone is bringing them here to the clinic?"

"Mhm... just before you came someone dropped off another one, he was on the verge but due to my skills, he was able to hold out long enough, and is fine and going to make a full recovery."

"Are they being abused?" Echo asked.

"I'm not sure, at least not physically but mentally then yes it's possible; though that might be of something else..." the doctor admitted.

"Something else?"

"Well as you know the equipment I have is well limited to certain things, so it's just speculation at this point but they are showing some signs of drug... drug addiction."

""!!!"" Both Echo and Nyx were shocked by what they just heard.

Nyx looked slightly more shocked, which didn't go unnoticed by Echo.

"Step... step~"

Opening the door Eun walked back into the lab.

"Eun, where were you?" His master asked as he looked back towards Eun.

"Taking care of loose ends."

"...Okay, just be more cautious when your out; we don't know when the trackers will show once more."

"Yes, Master." Eun responded as his master started continuing his work.

As his master was mumbling as doing tasks, Eun suddenly spoke.

"Master, I have a question"

"What is it?"

"The tracker... what kind of abilities did it have?"

This caught his master off-guard before he started thinking about how to explain it.

"Honestly I don't know... he was there in less than a second and gone within the next. I couldn't react in time, my eyes were the only thing I could move.

Of course, I was caught off guard, if there's a next time he wouldn't be able to escape. Even though I don't know the ability, his chances of survival are... slim" He said with an intense murderous look in his eyes.

"..." Eun's face was neutral but no one could tell what he was currently thinking.
