A young man gazes at these words on his phone as it emits vibrant lights onto his face. He looks away from it for a moment to check his surroundings. Broken down buildings and cracked streets filled with trash and "old tech" was all he saw.

"Haaaah," he let off a sigh full of weariness and turned around. Behind him a small girl next to a fire was eating a piece of moldy bread with hot water inside of a poorly made shelter. She had a smile on her face. "Well," he spoke to himself softly, "If she can smile like that then I can go another day without food."

[Character Creation Initiated.]

[Abilities will be allotted based on experienced trauma.]

[Calculating Trauma.]

"Hm, gotta be a loading screen. Hopefully this'll distract my stomach, damn what I wouldn't give for a-" Suddenly his vision went blank and his body fell limp. He could only listen as people ransack and destroy his shelter. By the time he was able to open his eyes the assailants were gone and so was the shelter but he wasn't concerned with either. He didn't see the girl. As blood ran from his head into his eyes he mustered all his strength and began frantically shifting through the remains of the shelter. "Fuck," he quietly muttered in frustration, then he screamed, "FUUUUCK!!" He ceased all movement and began to sob. After a moment he began to to breathe heavily and whisper to himself, "I can do it... I can fucking do it." He picked up the sharpest piece of what used to be his home and began to walk single mindedly in the direction his assailants ran. But before could go far he felt a small hand on his leg. He looked down and saw the child, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm sorry, they took the bread you found. But I did what you said." She spoke softly through her tears. "When the bad men came, I stayed quiet and hid just like you said so," her tears began to intensify, " Please don't leave me. I don't know what you were gonna do but please don't leave me." As he watched this child cry all the anxiety and tension left his body, his legs lost strength and he fell to the ground. "Are you okay!? Your bleeding!" The distraught child hugged him with all she had as if that would make him better. While she squeezed him he could only smile and laugh.

"Heh heh heh," as he continued his chuckle he returned her embrace, "don't worry head injuries always bleed like this, I'm fine." He spoke with a wide and bright smile to show her he was fine. "I'll never leave you ok? We'll get though everything together no matter what." His words only made the girl cry harder into his chest. He sighed and looked into the distance. He saw a tall building that gave of a silver light, at the top it read District 202. Looking at this building only one thought crossed his mind which he said out loud, "Damn what I wouldn't give for a grilled cheese and some tomato soup."

"What's that?" The girl slowed he tears to inquire.

"Oh, it's this amazing food your mom used to make." He answered happily, " One day I'll definitely let you taste it." While looking back down to talk to the child he was surprised to see out the corner of his eyes that his phone was still on the ground. " Those idiots took moldy bread but didn't take my phone?" He snapped with confusion. "I know it's old tech but still." As he pondered why they didn't take his phone he felt a sharp pain in his head. Is my head worse than I thought? He wondered as it got progressively worse. Then suddenly.

[Trauma fully calculated.]

A synthetic voice suddenly cut into his mind and words appeared in front of his eyes to match it. Them hell? He thought. Is this that dumb game's voice?

[Trauma analysis has determined that have the potential to become a warrior.]

[Creating abilities for Warrior....]

The fuck is happening? Was the only thought that ran through his head as the pain finally began to subside.

"What's wrong?" The child chimed in concerned. "I knew it, your head still hurts!" She began to check his head with her small hands.

She can't see these words? He thought as they continued to appear in front of his eyes.

Reading these words the boy could only let out a nervous laugh. The girl had a look of concern on her face. The boy smiled to reassure her. After a short pause he finally spoke. "Ya know, I think our luck might change a bit." He turned his eyes back to the silver tower shining in the distance. His chest was filled with a new feeling that he could only describe as expectation. With a soft smile he spoke to himself, "Warrior, huh?"
