Evelyn tried to move her arms, legs or wiggle her toes. Anything, any kind of movement would have been appreciated, but none moved. Her brain was sluggish, her vision hazy and she failed to comprehend where she was.
Salvatore? Was he here?
"She's up." someone said. "Do we-"
"Continue," a sharp voice cut her off. "She cannot do anything."
She can't? Why?
Evelyn breathed in and her head lulled to the side, almost effortlessly, like it weighed nothing. Had she been drugged by them?
She blinked her eyes, which happened very slowly but she caught the vision of someone above her. Were they watching her? Something touched her face but at this point, she was not really sure.
What was happening? Had she lost all bodily controls?
Before evelyn could find out, her head started to feel heavy and she could almost feel herself sitting on a merry-go-round.
