Chapter 1Prologue

Takbo ng takbo si Ciara sa tila wala nang katapusang pasilyo ng ospital. Hindi na niya inda ang mga taong nakakabangga niya. Pabilis nang pabilis ang tibok ng puso niya. Binabalot ng matinding kaba ang buong sistema niya.

Nakita niya ang ama na nakaupo sa mahabang upuan sa labas ng delivery room. Habol hininga siyang lumapit dito.

"D-Daddy."

Nag-angat ng tingin sa kanya ang ama. Gaya niya, bakas sa mukha nito ang labis na pag-aalala para sa kanyang ina. Umupo siya sa tabi nito. Inabot niya ang kamay ng ama at matamis na ngumiti.

"Magiging okay lang sila dad. I can't wait to see them," pagpapatatag niya sa kalooban nito.

Lumipas ang ilang minuto, ang ilang oras, lumabas mula sa delivery room ang isang babaeng doctor. Agad nila itong sinalubong, kapwa may tensyonadong ngiti sa kanilang labi.
