Broken Tears

The screams of agony and terror rang clear through my ears. I won't stop no matter how much I try. It is the burden I must carry for being so powerless against them. Tears deem me unworthy as I stare lifelessly at the blank ceiling. The bloodshed was still fresh in my mind as if it was just yesterday that they had been viciously torn apart before my eyes. The guilt bubbles in the back my throat, blocking all my attempts to scream or beg for forgiveness.
