However, Calixto did not bulge at all. His eyes were hot on her face and Iris was like a cup of sundae under a scorching sun—she just melted in his gaze.

Iris exhaled a deep breath when Calixto did not say anything. It was clear that he has no intention to let her go until he got the answer to his question. She could not believe how he was acting.

"You have not talked to me alone ever since you came back," she whispered under her breath, her face flaming red.

Calixto's gaze softened and in the barest of whispers said. "I never thought you wanted to be alone with me."
