Earl Of Ephyra

It had been about a week since I had gained my new powers.  I was disappointed to find out that I could not absorb my puddle cycle or my lightsaber. Although I knew how to put them together and had a basic idea of how they worked, I didn't 100% understand how they did what they did. It was easy to take apart a phone and memorize what went where, put it back together, and to even alter it slightly, but it was another thing to fully understand it.

Even if I could, I probably wouldn't. Something about holding a lightsaber in hand and cutting down my enemies with it felt good. Same could be said for my puddle cycle, I liked riding it around. 

Today was the day the ceremony for Eli Wallace to become an Earl of Ephyra happens. He will be one of two earthlings that will receive royal titles within my Kingdom.

The US media had jumped at the chance to cover such an event as an Earthling becoming alien nobility to the point some offered to pay me to reserve a press spot. I denied them all except for a small media company that had just started out and had no clear bias in how they viewed things. The media company was called NYNN and it was ran by a guy named Richard nicks. 

One of the many things I had gotten from the Doctor Who Universe was the base code and a device to access the Galactic hub. Considering the Galactic Hub didn't exist in this universe, It could be whatever I wanted it to be.

It was currently 1997 on this earth and the idea for social media hasn't even been thought up yet. I was planning to create a Social media that could never be replaced or outdone by rivals in the future.

The Galactic hub will be something anyone in the Universe could access, but unlike the internet, they can't buy domains. It will have more than just Social media in the near future, but for now that's what it will start out as. The most difficult part of setting it up will be distributing the wrist devices to the many alien worlds and races.

Over the last week I had been working on it quite a lot and have all but created the social media website called 'Galactic social'. It was just like twitter, but you could personalize your profile a bit more and add things like music, backgrounds, and a video introduction if you wanted. 

The device to access the Galactic Hub was a wrist device that showed a holographic screen when activated. Everything was voice activated and easy to use. It had a short retractable cord that could connect to almost any type of device to transfer video and pictures. Of course the cord could also be used for charging if you didn't have access to a sun on your planet to solar charge. 

Using the same mass production process the Ancients used to make a number of other things, I created thousands in a week and would continue to make more as time went on. 

The fae had been working hard on the farming I had tasked them with and thanks to their power over plant life, things were growing at a fast pace. The whole field which was once just a huge plot of dirt, was now filled with trees on one side and crops on another. The filming crew would be filming from this location. My crew and myself would use Ephyra itself as our backdrop. 

Ready to start the show I informed NYNN and had them start filming. I wanted to give off an air of transparency so we were filming live. I didn't like to draw things out so I looked at the camera and started speaking. "Hello Earthlings, as you all probably know by now, I am King Sisyphus and behind me is the kingdom of Ephyra." I said as I gestured behind me, prompting the camera man to take in the view of Ephyra in all it's glory. 

"Today I want to introduce everyone to my newest crew mate that will be living inside Ephyra from this point on. Recognizing his talent and intelligence, I decided he was an Earthling full of potential that could not only be a big help on my crew, but also be a great bridge between Ephyra and the rest of Earth. That is the main event that brings us here today, but I also have other news"

Yuna moved forward taking her que as she showed her arm to the camera. It had the Galactic hub wrist device on it. As she had practiced many times in the last day and a half, she began to demonstrate how it worked. 

After exploring and explaining every aspect of the tech she smiled brightly. "With the small price of five hundred and ninety nine USD, you can now talk with those outside of Earth and buy exclusive alien products through our ads. We are not only selling to the US, but any country that is willing to pay. We all live on this planet and everyone should be allowed to know what is going on outside of earth".

"Thank you Yuna, you are an excellent sales woman" I said as I stood in front of the camera again. The main reasons I wanted to sale the Galactic hub to earth was to not only sale other products through it, but also use it as my own personal propaganda machine.

I would have given it away for free, but I was afraid people would  become paranoid over free gifts from aliens.  This way not only do I make a profit, but I still look like a saint for making the price so reasonable. Everyone will want one to keep up with the Joneses next door, to simply fit in at school or work, or just because they wanted to have their hands on a piece of alien technology that was able to communicate with other alien races.

Looking straight in the camera I spoke again. "The first 50 to buy will receive a random signed poster of either me or one of my crew. Now moving on to today's main event, let me introduce the young man I was speaking about a bit ago. Eli Wallace formally of Earth" 

After speaking, Eli who had been standing with the camera crew outside of the shot of the camera, walked towards me before kneeling. "My King" Eli said with a voice that showed his respect for the man he called his King. 

Pulling out my lightsaber I placed it next to his head, even the slightest of movements could behead him. "Eli Wallace of Earth, you are from this day forward Earl Wallace of Ephyra".

After I was done speaking I told Eli to take his place behind me and I spoke into the camera one last time. "Do you wish to be like Earl Wallace one day? We are soon opening an Academy for those that are 15 years of age where we will teach many things including Technology, Agriculture, Magic, and many other subjects.
