Chapter 24

Van took the key from his backpack and used it to open the doorknob of his apartment unit. He sat down on the couch after putting down his backpack on the floor to take some rest since he felt exhausted after bringing the stranger to the police station and following Lino to the latter’s apartment again.

[What should I do for now?] Van thought while his eyes were closed and his head resting on the couch. [Yeah, that’s right...I should cook my own food for now. I’m hungry.]

Van stood up and went to the kitchen to cook some rice and pork adobo*. Afterwards, he prepared a vegetable salad using cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pepper, radish, and various other ingredients. He served his food properly after preparing them well.

[Alright! It’s time to eat!] Van thought before beginning to eat the food he had worked hard for to prepare.

After eating, Van started washing the dishes while also thinking what he should tell Ersel.
