Azula(#1)

-----This isn't a part 1 of a chapter its just I might name a future chapter Azula again. Just a little warning here too this will contain a small chemistry lesson. This also might be a disagreeable chapter for some.-----

While just passing off random exercise to Alexia, Azula ended up calling me. I knocked on her door, checking her status before walking in.

<Jealous: Psyche 73/100>

"About time, get in here!"

Azula grabbed me digging her nails into my arm and pulled me into her room. "What's up, your nails are sharp."

She looked down at her hand gripped my arm slightly and let go. "Hmmm, you certainly stay in shape."

"Uhhh...Thanks? I already loaded the supplies in. Sooo What's up."

I was a little confused at the jealous notification. Specially since Azula doesn't seem the very...No she would be jealous 100%. "I know, but I want to know why you are hanging out with that girl."

"Wait... What?"

"The girl with the scarf, Alexia."

"I know who you were referring to, but why? Are you jealous of me hanging out with other girls?"

Her eyes widened, "Why in the world would I have to be jealous? Hmmm, I am more interested in why you seem to be helping her."

That still sounded jealous to me. Does that mean she is jealous of Alexia because she is another girl or is it because I helping her?

"Let me ask you something first, do you expect me to win the prodigy competition thing?"

"Honestly, yes. You seem competent despite your terrible attitude toward royalty."

"Riiiight, well... I guess I'll explain then. Basically she wanted my help to learn to fight in exchange she becomes my employee."

"Really..."

New notifications came up and I was surprised. I checked her psyche too, It didn't change but the emotion it read did change. Reading it as happy I was not sure what to say. She spoke before me though.

"If you win I can set it up so she is formally your servant. As long as you tell me...about the rumors about you?"

"Rumors?

"The ones about you lightning bending, or do you not remember those."

"I don't listen to rumors, but I guess I can explain that."

"You certainly should, after all the last time I checked only the royal family can lightning bend."

I nodded, "Well to be honest, I heard of the royal family lightning bending. Specially your skill with it, so I figured I would try. Figuring it would have a composite of energy change like how fire works. So by focusing my emotions I found a way to lightning bend."

"How? When?"

"Uhhh... Well, First time was against the mother of Lime. I actually killed her and not knowing she was a mother at the time. So that's where this neat cloak came from."

She looked at the coat wrapped around my waist. Made of the leather and wool of Lime's mother. Which was honestly a little fucked up. However it did make him see me as family so it was...alright?

"Anyway I needed to kill it or else I'd be kill so I just really focused that intention. Now whenever I want to use it...well I gotta kind of think about killing my opponent. However I have figured out how to control the output while on the island so I don't actually kill the person."

"Interesting..."

Why was that a lower amount than earlier? I guess she respects it, but doesn't like that I know it. At least I thought that would be the case.

She lit a fireball in her hand and started talking. "Can you change the color of your flame like me?"

"No, maybe? More like element of used for heat."

I knew a good amount of chemistry from my past life so I had a decent idea of what burns differently. She put out her fire and motioned for me to explain. "Right, explanation. Hmmm, Azula...How much do you know about the elements of the periodic table?"

"Periodic table? Hmmm, you mean that boring chart of metals."

"Yeah, that. Well if you can burn different elements with your fire you could potentially change your fire's color as well as its heat or properties."

"Really? Can you explain it to me?"

She walked over to a table and motioned to a table. "Let's sit down while you explain."

"Okay, well..." I sat down across from her while she held her chin up with her hands. "Well, if you burn magnesium the fire will be bright white. I think its hotter than normal, but the brightness of it is the important part since it can be blinding. When something like Helium burns it is cold and can actually freeze things. I have actually managed to produce this affect with my flames, but I can't do it reliably."

"I see, but you managed to do it... So take my fire why is it blue? I have always wondered about its color. Most just assume its just my personality, but it wasn't always blue."

"Right, well I guess you are essentially burning more oxygen than a normal flame with your fire. Which would cause it to be hotter and more intense, but I think it might be more costly. though i don't know well...hmmm."

I wasn't sure how to explain it, mostly because if she asks me how I know this I wasn't sure how to explain that. I guess I could play it off as some sort of supreme knowledge I received by a possibility of reincarnation.

She waited patiently for me. I wasn't even sure why. "I'm gonna side track us here. Can you be honest with me?"

"As honest as I can...If you be honest in return."

I looked at her psyche emotion and it actually read sincere. I won't mention the fact I can actually bend all the elements. Or that I am connected to the lion turtles and have to help the avatar. but... I needed to be both truthful here while not telling the whole truth here. I needed Azula to trust me completely. Specially with my choice of saving her. "How sound proof is this room?"

"Completely."

"Princess Azula...I will only say this once and you are the only person I will give a confirmed response to. I can bend both Fire and Earth, I am guessing you have also heard about me bending lava?"

She smiled, "Really? I thought that might be the case, but I wasn't actually sure. Let me ask you something though. Are you the avatar?"

I shook my head, "No I am not."

<Sincere:Psyche -3>

I was a little shocked by the notifications, as her Psyche seemed to lower even lower. What would happen if it got too low? What would happen, I wanted to say something, but Azula had said something first. "I figured you weren't but it always good to ask right? I was actually planning to force you to tell me about your lava bending eventually anyway. I would actually prefer to hide this from my father. He may be the fire lord, but with my pathetic brother banished and my sappy uncle joining him. I wonder if my father is really the right person to be on the throne."

I was in mental freak out mode, because this was some completely against the normal for me. I was pretty sure this was a test, but I was also pretty sure she was being 100% since the Psyche still read sincere. I was also pretty sure Azula was ambitious enough to vie for the throne like her father had by murdering Azula's grandfather.

I took the short road, "So you uhhh yeah...The reason I can bend two elements is likely the same as the reason I know a lot about higher education levels."

"Changing the subject. Good choice, but let's go back to your possible earth bending."

"Right possible, So what about it." I took the branch she gave me.

"Why would you have the possibility of such scenario."

She was giving me wiggle room, essentially only giving the possibility of actually bending earth. She was certainly still trying to manipulate me. This was like a weird 5D chess game with her. She was faster with collecting her thoughts though. Giving me rope and seeing if I would hang myself.

"Well I believe there might be a possibility of me remembering a past life. Giving me extra...let's call it property."

"Well can't say a honestly believe in past lives. However I'll concede it may be possible everyone has had one or two. Even if that is something my uncle would say."

I nodded, "I have heard of your uncle's more spiritual connection. Even his study of the other elements..."

"Many have, but what do you believe about it."

I had to think about that for a second. "I don't want to get into philosophy Azula, but I will say that I believe I know why the Avatar remembers his past lives or at least can connect to them. While others would forget about them."

This was some future planning shit, but maybe. Just maybe I could get Azula to help me with the spirit portal problem and the deal with the weird Vaatu and Raava mix. I'll need to just open her to the idea about it. After that I could sort of convince her later to not try and kill Aang? Since that would cause the balance to shatter. Would she care about the balance? How do i even do all this?

She sat across from me in her own thinking, I wasn't sure on her thoughts. However they had to certainly be important due to her own length of thinking. She folded her fingers, "Let's not discuss this again until you are officially under my command. After that... we will see. Maybe my brother will find the Avatar and I can plan from there."

I nodded, "Okay Azula, Can we eat something?"

"As in together? I suppose I could spare sometime to eat with you."

I briefly wonder about her switch from serious Azula to borderline Tsundere. It was whatever though, better my relationship with her, the easier it would be convincing her later. hopefully this was the right thing.
