Young teens and adults were randomly disappearing in Egypt. Zain, a late teenager. Went with his family to their aunt's place. Chatting with each other, a weird being in the sky transports Zain and his cousin into a different world. Arriving at the new world Zain realises that his cousin disappeared. Wanting to find her, he began looking for information around the world. Little did he know, that he would stumble upon information about his Ancestors and the Ancient world.
Zain was a teenage boy 177 cm with short hair and brown eyes, living in the city of the nile, Cairo. the city that appeared more than 7,000 years ago. He had 2 brothers and a loving mother. they lived on a budget based on the money that was given to them by their father, who worked in another country. one day they all agreed to go to their Aunt, for a family gathering.
it was Friday morning at 7 a.m when they started packing, and getting ready to visit them. they ordered a taxi and they were on their way. The Aunt was getting ready for their arrival. there were 3 siblings in the other family 2 girls 1 boy, all in the same age as Zain and his brothers.
*in the house of Aunt*
"Come on mom! why can't I wait for them outside?" said Habeba, one of the siblings. She was 17 the same age as Zain. 156 cm with long black hair and dark-brownish eyes. "Stop whining, you will not be standing in a temperature like this" said the Aunt. The temperature was abnormally high. Almost a 50 degree celsius and the humidity was higher than normal.
"so how long until they get here?" said Habeba, to which the Aunt replied "the last message they sent me was 10 minutes ago, so I would say another 20 or so." Habeba sighed and walked to her room. she buried her face in her pillow. "why can't they come faster? I want to study with Zain about the new lesson that I had. he probably took the same lesson by now."
*in the taxi*
Everyone was quiet and the streets weren't busy, and the roads were empty. "Zain isn't it a little weird that no one is out on the streets at the weekend" Asked Magda, Zain's mother. "don't ask me I never go out of the house unless it's for a private lesson" he replied. he turned to his big brother, who was sitting next to the driver. "what do you think, Nour?". Nour was an above average height 186 cm with brown hair.
"well, the weather app did say neither it would be this hot nor this dry. is it a coincidence that some people also went missing 1 day apart of each other across the country." said his brother. everyone in the world outside of Egypt was speculating that this might be one of the curses that the old Egyptian pharaohs casted before they left this world. the disappearance happened at Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan and Giza. at least 5 million of the population disappear per city.
*they arrive at their location at 10:30*
they get out of the taxi and started walking into an alley. the neighborhood was poor, their family were living in the bottom of the pyramid of the population. to their surprise they see Mohamed, one of their cousins sitting at the front gate of the house. they stop and Greet him. he than invites them inside the house.
while they were going to knock on the door, it opens on its own. it was Habeba, she was shocked to see them. "oh, I didn't think you guys were here already." she said in loving voice. she invites them in, the Aunt sees them walking in and rushes towards them. They start their normal routine of a family gathering.
The mothers drink tea and chat with each other, the big brothers talk about college, the little ones playing games together and the mid don't know what to do. "So how did you know that we were at the door before we knocked?" he started asking, to which she stood up panicking, "oh no I forgot!" she dashes to the door yelling to her mother that she was sorry.
confused as to what happened he ran behind her, closing the front door behind him. He found her standing outside of the gate, "what happened why did you run?" she was looking at a list labeled groceries, "i need to get the groceries or I'm gonna be on the menu for today."
Zain let out a sigh then told her that he thought something had happened. the mothers ran down screaming, "what happened?" the two looked back and she told her mother that she had a blast of energy. the mothers started to get mad, "don't run off like that you two, you made us worried that something happened to you!" they both apologize, and swore to not do it again. the Aunt realized that Habeba was holding on to the list, so she understood.
"ok, I'm going to the market to buy the ingredients." whilst she was leaving Zain turned to his mother and asked her if he could go with her. she hesitated for a minute but agreed in the end, and told him to come back before noon. nodding his head he runs towards Habeba, "wait up!!" he shouted. she looks back to see him running full speed at her. "don't shout in public, someone might get a headache because of your loud voice"
Waiting a second before he responds. "Why? almost all of the youth are gone *pant* so the probability of someone hearing me at this time of the morning is slime to none. wait..... why are you running!!!". Habeba dashed while he was monologuing, "you better not slow me down, because I want to finish this fast so that I can see your intelligence at unit 12". she turned a corner at the end of the road. "oh come on how much stamina does she have?"
*back at the house*
the moms were talking about their kids and how they grew the same in everything, "Zain and Habeba always get along well, don't they?" Magda said to the Aunt. in the room beside the front door the big siblings were sitting on the two beds across from each other and were discussing about the strange occurrence that is happening across Egypt. "so what do you think Nour?, do you really think it's an old Egyptian curse or an old chinese foreshadowing that starts out in Egypt?"...
"well almost all of the youth in Egypt disappeared. All of it happened in the span of 5 days. With each day 5 million disappear in their respective cities without a trace, and the government doesn't believe us low life people when we tell them. I'm actually getting worried about all that's happening." he starts to breathe heavily and freak out. Mohamed takes a hold of Nour and shakes him.
"Stop freaking out. it's gonna be fine, take a breather. Let's go outside of the house for fresh air, maybe it will calm you down."... 'yeah you might be right.' they both walk outside the house and stand at the front gate. "what do you think will happen?" Said Nour
Confused about the question Mohamed looked at nour. "If we disappear what do you think will happen to our family?" Mohamed lets out a big sigh "can you stop thinking about it, you might freak out again if you don't." Nour shuts up and looks at the ground... it was silent and there wasn't the smallest breeze in the air.
Mohamed started to feel depressed when he thought about what Nour said. "(If it's really true that only youth disappear you, me, Zain and Habeba will disappear too. our parents would be sad and our little siblings will be alone. it's just like Nour said, what do I think about all of this. I just keep trying to not think or speak about it, I don't want to speak it into existence. Losing family members, I don't want to feel that, not again.)"
*15 minutes later at the grocery market*
"Wow you lapped all around the market like 3 times, and we came out with only 4 plastic bags." he was holding 2 on both hands. "what about it? I have to choose the fresh ones, or would you like me to take saggy ones? If you don't have anything else to say move your legs, you old man" while she was walking out of the market she peaked above her shoulder, to check on him if he was walking behind her..... he wasn't..
He was standing in place. she got pissed, turned around and screamed at him. "COME ON HURRY UP!!" she quickly walked towards him "com—" before she could talk Zain let go of the groceries, falling to the ground. as soon as the groceries hit the ground, Habeba felt a cold breeze.
the breeze wasn't hitting her in the face or sides, no. It was hitting her head from the top. The breeze was unnoticeable at first, but with time it began turning into wind. "hey Zain why does it feel like I'm standing under an air conditioner?" she looks at Zain and sees him looking up with a shocked expression on his face.
his body was trembling in place and he couldn't move. A giant dust storm was starting to form in the area. "hey what's happening I can't see anything the dust is getting into my eyes. Zain..... Zain!!!" second after second the storm was getting stronger and stronger. She opened her eyes slowly, and looked at Zain's face. his eyes were wide open looking at the sky. she tried to call to him but the wind became so strong that she couldn't hear her own voice. they were really close to flying off the ground, slowly looking up at the sky she... FROZE in place. "(what is that!?)"
A humongous eye was looking down at them while they were looking up at it. they couldn't move their body. the eye took up the entire sky from one side to the other, looking down on them. It felt disturbing. the eye's pupil started to change into different colors. from black to blue, pink, green, red, yellow, and white. Both of them feel like their hearts are gonna stop. While the storm around them turned into a fierce hurricane. Cars, light pools and people were flying upwards towards the eye. It was like a black hole.
Both of their feet were lifting off of the ground while the streets around them were in chaos. they passed out in the middle of the way to the eye.
*2 minutes before the storm*
Back at the gate, Mohamed looked at Nour who was sitting on the sidewalk. Unable to start small talk, he suggested that they go back inside the house. Nour who was spacing out didn't hear what Mohamed had suggested. "Hey man, come on would you like to live in that world in your head forever? stop spacing out." said Mohamed while grabbing Nour's arm and helping him stand up.
While being pulled up by Mohamed, Nour freezes. Looking at the big eye behind Mohamed in the sky, he starts shaking. Grabbing him with both arms, Mohamed is worried if Nour doesn't feel well. "hey, are you alright? what's gotten into you?" Nour unable to mutter a single word while looking at the eye, he faints. Mohamed then started to panic. "Nour, what happened are you good?" turning his head upwards to call his mother to get some sugar with water. he freezes. Making contact with the eye In the sky.
He sees its pupil change colors before he also starts to faint. "(What is that? i can't move my body.)" he faints and the hurricane pulls him and Nour into its eye. the sky was filled with young people coming from all directions towards the eye. The end was near, and their Arrival was inevitable.
