Everything On The Line

Back in the dungeon, a sense of dread washed over Safira. Pain shot through her entire being as if someone had stabbed her with a dagger. Moraina and Archer were with her at the time.

"Safira? Safira! What's happening?" Moraina gasped in horror.

"I… I…" she couldn't string any words together coherently as she crumbled to the ground again.

'Mate, our mate!' Nymeria howled in agony alongside her.

Safira widened her eyes in horror. Was Damien in danger? How could that be?

"It's Damien… Damien…," Safira clutched onto her stomach.

Her wound was torn open, blood seeping through the bandages again. Moraina held her in her arms, fear gripping her heart.

"Damien? What about Damien?"

"I need… I need to get to him," Safira struggled to get on her feet.

Despite the silver chains, she could feel a connection with Damien. He was calling out to her from the depths of his mind. But she couldn't take more than a few steps forward.
