Gate of Hél.

"It's burning... my house... wait..." Kai laid there with his breath slowly stopping. "No..." 

"Look at this; the little shit lost his will to fight after seeing the house burn," The officer pinning him to the ground looked at the other."I wanted to kill that woman myself, but who would have guessed that the father was such a fan of murder, he killed her as soon as he got the chance." 

"Humans are fucked up, even more than we lesser-demons are, they always surprise me when they lose their shit," The officer standing chuckled, scratching his head and then looking at his arms. "We definitely can't go back without him now, we even bound our souls to these filthy flesh hosts, the only thing that can save us is-" 

The roaring of the flames was temporarily drowned out with the sound of a squelching crack when a brick collided into the possessed officer's head, smashing his skull in and leaving him staggering for several seconds before he fell to his knees and then slumped over, dead as a doornail. 

Slowly, Kai's eyes followed the scene in his peripheral until he laid his eyes on the dead officer, bleeding from a crater in the back of his head and there standing above him were Andrew Ava who had finally arrived. 

He could see her mouth moving, but the only thing he could hear were the last words Susana had spoken to him the previous morning: "I want to leave soon, Kai, he's been giving me crazy looks, I don't want to be around him anymore..." Her words sunk through his mind and melted his muscles like putty, he was trying, but no strength he could imagine was making him move, his eyes slowly began tearing up.

"Ava..." Kai's eyes slowly began widening. "Ava..." He whispered her name again. "Run..."

"You fuckers!" The officer on top of him in a fit of rage sprung to his feet and tackled Andrew, knocking to the grounf with a punch to his chin and then grabbing Ava by her arm and slamming her chest-first onto the asphalt when she attempted to run away. 

The girl groaned in pain, thrashing about as the man's hand slowly snaked around her neck and he began choking her. "I'll make it slow so I can see the moment the life leaves your eyes!"

"Kai... How much longer do you intend to lay here pitifully?" 

"She's dead." 

"Your adopted mother was always meant to die a dog's death at the hands of the scum which seeded you, it was her destiny." 

"What am I supposed to do? She was all there was, destiny or no, she was all I had!"

"Was she, are you sure?" 

"Save me... help me, please." 

"Nobody, not I, not the devil, not even God will save you, Kai, what little saving grace you have is at your own mercy." The Voice continued to whisper in his head. "Of all beings alive, you are the most condemned."

"I can't..."

"If you are giving up, then why are you still seething with so much anger?" It probed.

"Because... I'm alone now, this world, this fucked world, it's always taking from me, always killing the things I love, what is the point of being alive if there is nothing left to live for!?" Kai's whisper loudened and his voice cracked when the tears he had been crying turned to blood. "What is the point of this world even existing when all it causes is misery?!" He spoke even louder.

"There is nothing left!" He snapped when his body began trembling. "There is nothing left!!"

"If that were true, then why, Kai Mora?" The voice in his head queried in amusement.

"Die; die slowly, suffer, beg, none will save you, you all die alone, Hél awaits the whole lot of you!" The officer cackled, seeing Ava's hands go limp and her tongue stick out when she began shaking beneath him. "Die you impish human filth!"

"If you truly believe that there is no hope and there is no salvation for you or anyone else, then why Kai, why are you still so desperately trying to save this woman you only met a week ago?" The voice asked Kai just before his foot collided in the side of the officer's head and sent the possessed man sliding across the asphalt, scraping the skin off his lips and revealing his cracked teeth beneath the bloody mess his face had become. 

"You..." He could tell at a glance without even a hint, this was the same entity from before, the one that had chased him across the town and killed a bunch of people; as though there was a screen before the creature occupying the policeman's body, he could see the real entity tightly tucked beneath the living flesh, squirming and writhing like a parasite. "YOU!" 

"Bmy Shasheee! (my face!)" The officer stared at the ground, at the trail of blood his face had dragged across the road and then looked up at Kai again, his eyes widened, it was his intent to do something after his partner had been killed and his body had been mauled, but he was again subjected to an even stronger kick to his forehead that left his feet high in the air and his brain rattled as he was thrown off the ground and onto the lawn of the neighbouring household.

"I'll kill you!!" Kai charged at the man, grabbing him by his leg before it even fell back to the ground and turning sideways as the black strips began appearing across his arms and face again. "You son of a bitch! I told you, Ava is off-limits!!"

The veins in his forehead bulged, and he seemed to start foaming at the mouth as he raised the man by his leg, screaming as he swung him once like a puppet and then slammed him back into the sidewalk smashing his skull and sending brain matter flying into the road. 

A woman that had approached to try and stream the conflict live, screamed out, turning and bolting back down the street in horror when she witnessed this scene, especially when Kai turned to her and she saw his eyes, those were not the eyes of a human being, it was as if he too had been possessed.

"Fuuck!!" Kai fell to his knees, dragging the body back towards himself and holding it by the throat. "Get up, don't die yet, I want to kill you properly!" He growled enflamed, locked his hands around the neck and began squeezing it so hard that more blood squirted from the head.

"Kai~!" 

His body stiffened and his muscles froze again, what was that?

"Kai~!" The voice called again and he arose almost as if he was in a trance.

"No way..." Ava having caught her breath, coughed when she heard the woman screaming in the fire. "There is someone in there?" She asked, kicking Andrew who had been called back to consciousness because of the woman who had screamed and run down the road's shrill cry of terror. 

"Su... Susana!!" Kai stepped on the officer's body, taking off at nigh superhuman speeds across the road towards his house.

"Do not approach, Kai!" The voice that had spoken to him earlier gave him a loud and painful warning sending jolts through his body and causing him to fall to the ground on the lawn, while the flames of the house continued rising until they became a great funnel shaped phenomena. "Those are not mortal flames, if you dare touch them you will be dragged to Hél, this is a gate, you must flee!" 

"Kai, help me~ it burns, it burns!!" She cried.

It took a moment, but after he was able to raise is head again, Kai did indeed see Susana, or at least her silhouette, and along with her he saw something else; something as large as an elephant standing biped with its foot pressed on her while she writhed beneath it, reaching out and screaming while she thrashed.

"Please, Kai!" 

"What the, what?" Andrew stared at the large creature with it's foot on the woman, he felt defeat, hopelessness, morbid terror, every horrible sensatione he could have possibly thought about crashed into his chest like a sledge and he fell to his knees, forcing his lungs to breathe as the gate continued to grow, reaching five floors tall while the creature began grinding its large foot in Susana's back. "What is that horrible thing!?" 

"Susana" Kai raised his head taking one more step towards the gate and reaching his hand for the fire, "Give her back..." he weakly took another step. 

"Give her back!"
