Stella Regains Consciousness

After being unconscious for almost twenty-eight hours, Stella slowly regained consciousness. She fluttered her eyes open and shut them immediately, a low groan escaping her lips when the bright light assaulted her eyes. Her head was aching and her throat felt dry.

"Stella!" She heard a familiar voice echoing her name.

"Sweetheart!" She heard another familiar voice.

'This can't be right. I must be dreaming.' Stella thought to herself as she fluttered her eyes severally before opening them, adjusting her sight to the brightly illuminated room.

The first handsome face her eyes fell on was that of Alex, who happened to be on her right side where her head was positioned.

"Hello, beautiful!"

Alex's grey eyes shone an emotion Stella couldn't decipher at the moment as he stroked her right hand tenderly. His gaze felt warm and passionate but at the same time, it felt cold as ice.
