09 - Meeting the Eternals

Beat was floating in a small clearing in the middle of the forest, he's at the moment concentrating on the new things he learned through the Psychic Energy Manipulation, one thing to mention is although the Shop had completely awakened this ability, he could feel a familiar sensation while using it. He guessed that he would naturally be able to use it, perhaps it would take time, but it was bound to happen.

'Well, who cares! A few coins were wasted to cut out months of otherwise blind continuous training!' Beat thought while using telekinesis to make small stones orbit around himself.

Looking around at the rocks with a dumb smirk he raised his right hand and closed it, as he did that the floating rocks all collided in one single point, he put all his strength into the mental grip until the rocks were pulverized into gravel, then opening his closed fist he swung it at the direction of a tree, the gravel hit it like a shotgun shot obliterating a chunk of the tree.

"As I thought, using my hand as a point of focus makes it so much easier, now the only thing I need to find is a way to turn my ki into lightning and a lightsaber!"

While daydreaming of one day becoming the first MCU Sith Lord, Beat continued testing his telekinetic prowess to learn its limits, he captured a living animal to test the main reason he chose those abilities, Telepathy.

He floated the rabbit until it was in front of him, then he tried to mentally connect with it, he made several tries until he saw the agitated animal begin to spasm in pain, he stopped when he saw the animal's eyes began to bleed.

'I used too much force? I'll try to tone the intensity down a bit.' He thought while throwing the dead rabbit in his inventory.

Then he spent a few weeks capturing animals and trying to make a Telepathic link with them, it was after several failures and dozens of dead animals that he succeeded, he didn't just train it though, he spent half of his time exploring more of the Magic Materialization and trying new ideas he had with those techniques.

Looking down at the small bird in his hand Beat smiled, he successfully managed to control his psychic abilities to a degree that he was confident in at least not lobotomizing someone's brain with it, he could also control them like Druig but on a much smaller scale, he was a bit fearful of this particular ability, so gaining an understanding about how to do it and subsequently protect himself was a good surprise.

"Well I can control animals, I'll have to test on humans too but it shouldn't be too hard."

Looking behind him Beat entered a small house made entirely of stone, the odd thing was that it didn't have any sight of divisions on the stone as if it was just one massive rock that had been carved into a house, its doors and windows were made of wood, entering he laid down in a long couch that was in front of the fireplace.

He made the house and all of its furniture using his ability as training but also as a way to restore the commodity he once had, and it turned out to be pretty good, he was especially proud of the toilet, he spent days testing experimental plumbing systems until he arrived at a satisfying result, now he had a flush and a shower.

"That's good..." Beat murmured while falling asleep on the fur he used to revest the couch, before falling asleep though, he checked one last thing.

As soon as night came Beat headed directly to the city, he had trouble finding his target at first but after some time he found it, flying down an alley he went directly to a small window at ground level, he bent the bars and entered the prison cell, inside he found four people, they were prisoners waiting for their sentences, or already on it.

|"What the hell! H-how did you that-no, Who're you?!"| Exclaimed the only person awake, ignoring what he said Beat went in his direction.

|"Hey! Say something! Wha-What do you want?"| Beat kept slowly walking in the man's direction without a care, he had already checked, there weren't any guards nearby, so he wasn't worried about this man bringing attention to them.

When the man was about to wake up the others Beat blurred to his side and gave a light punch to his chin, the man went down soon after. After checking if everyone in the cell was truly sleeping he came back to the guy he knocked out.

Beat sat down beside the unconscious man, put his palm on the man's forehead, and closed his eyes, after a few minutes Beat opened his eyes, with a small smile on his face he went around the cell while making the same to all the other men.

It was when he went through the last man that his face changed, he opened his eyes and looked down with an enraged face, Beat had his hand resting on the man's head while he saw the things the man did, refocusing his eyes on the man he began to slowly tighten his grip, after a few seconds the man wake up because of the pain on his head, he tried to look around but it was a futile effort, he soon began to scream and plead to be freed, hearing the commotion the other prisoners quickly woke up.

|"H-Hey what you're doing! Stop!"| An elderly man tried and failed to push Beat from the screaming man that began to bleed from his eyes and ears, when Beat saw the man passing out he raised his head and slammed it on the floor, feeling the man's life force fading he got up, walked to the window while ignoring the fearful gazes he was receiving and exited the cell and Beat flew off.

"That's fucked up..." Beat gazed at his hand and the blood of the first person he killed, he wasn't regretting what he did, no he was just impressed with his savagery at that moment, he knew that he would have to kill eventually, but before today he never thought he could do something like that so easily and without remorse, now he was thinking of this new feeling, the feeling of wanting to make someone else suffer, he had a really strong urge of delaying that man's death to the maximum. Beat wasn't a stranger to rage, no, he felt it constantly while training the Oozaru and Ikari mode, but his rage was never was directed, it was always rage at the world itself. The rage he felt while looking at that man was different, it was almost personal, he wanted nothing more than his destruction, he had quickly killed him to not indulge in his newfound sadistic side.

He naturally saw the semblance between the OG Broly and him, but he decided to leave it for later, as he didn't have any idea besides controlling this side of him.

'I dealt with the Oozaru, this will be a pain but I'll do it again.'

With that out of the way Beat began to go through the memories he extracted from the men, he learned it while testing on animals, this way he could learn everything about his target, the downside was that he learned literally everything, all of the person's life down to the smallest details, even what they couldn't remember.

One of the bonuses of being a psychic was that he would never forget things if he so desired, so he wasn't worried about that anymore. He went through the first person's memories in a few hours, after that he separated his memories of learning to speak and other useful things, all of it took another few hours, when the morning came he was done with the first memories, after having breakfast he began another person's memories.

It took him a week to get everything he wanted, but as soon as he was done he erased all the useless stuff from his mind. Now he was going to test his tongue with the locals, he dressed up in new clothes he made after scanning his old ones, it was a perfect copy of it, it was spotless just like the first time he saw it.

Arriving at the city he flew above it and flew down in the middle of a few houses, after looking around he found it, he learned one of the man's hiding spots from their memories, he knew a few other ones, but it was a pain to get them, but this one was one of the worst spots, he was in a hurry to hide it, he also didn't have chance to change it before getting caught.

'Hehehe, easy money.' Beat smirked while spinning a bag full of coins in his hand, then he headed to the market, but unlike last time now he had a goal, and it was to get weapons and fabric to further develop his creation ability.

'I can also make clothes and tools to get money!' While he thought of it, it didn't even come to his mind to just make the money.

With the familiarity of someone who lived all his life in the city, Beat walked through the narrow alleys and streets until he began to hear a cacophony of voices all speaking at the same time.

He looked around a bit until he saw a stall with different types of farming tools and cold weapons, Beat's eyes sparkled when he put his eyes on them, there were swords, knives, battle axes, maces, spears, and bows, all neatly separated.

"Hey, brat! If you aren't buying anything then piss off!" The stall owner said impatiently after Beat took minutes looking around his wares.

Beat looked up annoyed, then he ignored the man and began grabbing things, after a minute he gathered a few weapons in front of the seller.

"Hey, hey, hey! Damn kid, a sword, a spear, two knives two daggers, an axe, a bow, and fifty arrows, are you trying to make a bandit group or something?" The man exclaimed when he saw what Beat wanted to buy.

"How much?" Beat said while looking at the man's face.

The man, on the other hand, frowned and looked down, after some thinking, he said, "Your family knows that you're using this much money to buy weapons when you could buy months worthy of food with it?"

Beat nodded and calmly said, "My father was a soldier, he sent me to buy new weapons to train me and my brothers, they were all occupied selling the crop, so they sent me to buy it, father said he'd teach us how to protect ourselves."

The man nodded after hearing Beat's explanation, he then said the price, Beat paid and the seller enveloped all the weapons in a piece of cloth and tied it together.

Beat took it and was surprised with the weight of it, as it was very light even to a human, after taking the weapons he left to look for fabric, looking around a bit he stopped at a clothes seller and took a few good looking robes.

"Excuse me, I'd like to buy this."

"Oh! Sorry, I wasn't paying attention, that will be..." Beat paid and left quickly, when he was far away from the stall he shook his head, 'That asshole didn't recognize me.'

The man he bought from was the same that put him in jail alongside Kai, Beat was surprised when he saw him but he decided to test the man, and turns out he forgot about Beat.

"I thought I would be more recognizable with my hair and clothes but I think some people don't really care." Unbeknownst to Beat that man after seeing him passed the entire day with the feeling that he forgot something.

After Beat left the market he dumped his things into the inventory and flew back to the forest, where he took the sword and started to mess with it.

It was a short sword, it was about fifty cm long, without any type of guard between the hilt and the blade, the handle was made of wood with leather wrapped around it, the pommel was slightly bigger than the handle to prevent the sword from escaping the hand. He then gave a few practice swings.

'This is too light! Wait...' after a few swings Beat nodded in understanding, yeah it was light, but to a human even swinging this short sword would be an extraneous task if they happened to be going all out on extended confrontations like wars.

After messing around for a few minutes he scanned it, he went in front of a tree then took a stance, with his feet more than shoulder apart and sword in one hand he slashed while controlling his strength.

The sword sliced through the tree like a hot knife through butter, after dodging the falling tree he looked at the sword with a fading white glow, it was a must-do to him, learn how to reinforce things with ki so he had been training it from the island till now.

He played with the other weapons too, and found bronze ones in the middle, 'Well the bronze age was not so long ago, I think.'

"Ki control, the psychic powers, magic materialization, and martial arts on the future, all those things just to keep me busy, I can't allow myself to get bored, boredom and immortality don't go well together, I have to find things to do." Beat said while firing arrows and failing miserably to hit a target.

The world Beat found himself in was strange, to say the least, he had been doing anything he could to not think about it, he was paranoid about all the extremely powerful beings that might or not be watching him, he knew a few things about Marvel's cosmic beings and the likes, he wouldn't call himself an expert, but at least he was aware of the existence of them, and that was enough.

If he had just some normal powers he wouldn't be on edge, but he knew the high-end power levels of the DBS could bring the destruction of their entire universe with just a few punches, and he wanted to reach that level, so his worries were his own doing but it wouldn't change his mind.

'I could be overthinking, they might not give a damn... yeah that's right, I certain The One Above All knows about me, so if I'm still here, it might be an ok signal, right?'

A week passed and Beat had restarted his physical training, with his creation technique he could make massive weights of iron and bronze so he abused those advantages to the max, after testing out he learned that a cube of one cubic meter of bronze weighted a lot, nearly 9 tons, not that he could know, to him if it was heavy he could train with it, so training he did, he easily made some chains and platforms, as days passed and he tested different types of things he unknowingly created the first gym of the world.

Looking at his front yard he laughed, "I wonder what a modern person would think if they saw those monstrous-looking weights!"

"Hahaha...hah... hah... I need friends..."

After moping around for a few minutes about his nonexistent social life he prepared to go to the city, out of boredom he checked it with his ki sense and became surprised with what he felt, 'The Eternals seem to be fighting, so this is a deviant's life force...'

Then a smile quickly formed on his face, "what better way to give a good first impression than helping them" as soon as he said that, a white aura exploded from his body and he shot through the sky with an excited grin on his face.

It began as a normal day to the Eternals, they've been helping the humans out as always and looking out for deviant attacks, those weren't that difficult, but today things seemed to be a bit different, it started when Phastos warned them of a large group rapidly approaching the city.

Now they were all fighting the incoming threats, Ikaris dealt with the flying ones while Kingo, Gilgamesh, Thena, and Makkari fought on the ground, with Makkari also saving the fleeing humans and bringing them inside the city, the deviant numbers were at least two times the usual, it wasn't a problem to the Eternals, though as it was so sudden they didn't have time to evacuate all the people to the city, they were doing all they could to save lives but some losses were bound to happen.

Even Makkari with all her speed couldn't be in two places at the same time, and that's when it happened, while her friends were fighting, she was evacuating the people that didn't run in time, she had just moved a man to the city gates when she saw at the edge of the forest two kids running with all their strength, behind them a panther-like deviant ready to bite them in half.

Seeing this she ran as fast as she could while keeping below subsonic speed, she doesn't want to deafen them with a sonic boom, after all, she was on them just in time to save one from a bite to the head, she didn't stop running though, she took the kid she was carrying away a few meters and turned to save the other one and smiled as she did so, the kid had been saved by a beam of golden energy that carried the two deviants dozens of meters away.

With the world moving slowly all around her, she looked to the culprit expecting to see her friend Ikaris, but what she saw was a kid engulfed in a white flame-like aura piercing through the air in the deviants' direction, he collided with it with such power that the ground shook and a huge dust cloud was created.

"Damn! I thought it would be more durable!" Beat said after the dust cleared while looking at the deviant that he had transformed into mangled meat when he landed on it.

When he was taking a closer look at his work, he felt an immense ki behind him, looking back Beat saw the Eternal speedster glaring at him with an incredulous face.

"..."

"Hahaha... er-Hi?" Beat awkwardly said waving at her after a moment.

This seemed to wake her up, she hurriedly made some hand signals, but stopped halfway through, she just shook her head and went back to saving people.

Seeing Makkari blitzing away Beat shrugged and stomped in the other deviant's head as he still felt it still was alive.

Beat used his ki sense to search for deviants next to humans while ignoring where he felt the Eternals, slicing through the air he flew to the forest, the first ki he arrived at was from a man getting his arm ripped off by a deviant while other men watched it in horror, Beat dropped down while punching it in the back of its neck when the man was about to be killed, his fist went through its strange meat as if it was made of cardboard, after removing his arm from the monster's neck, he eyed his fist with a frown seeing all the strange blood on it.

"Ahh! Argh! My- my arm! Urgh!"

Beat was brought back by the agonizing cries from the man, looking around he saw the others all gawking while looking in his direction, "What are you idiots doing! Go help your friend before he bleeds out!"

Hearing Beat's words the men run up toward their screaming friend and made a tourniquet on the man's arm, then they looked at Beat, "Go to the city, someone will get you on the way."

After seeing the men leave and sensing their life forces appearing in the city after a few seconds he nodded, 'Makkari for sure is fast.'

Then Beat continued to search and kill deviants on the outskirts of the city, while now and then passing by Makkari, after being amazed by his abilities for long enough she began ignoring him, just giving a nod when they crossed paths.

All it took was a few minutes and he couldn't sense any more deviants where he was, flying back to the city where he felt the last ones, there he saw Ikaris easily slicing deviants in the air with his cosmic heat vision, his fight seemed to be ending as a few deviants were trying to flee, Beat quickly fired golden lasers through his eyes just made to mess with the flying eternal.

Seeing a kid with strange hair flying and firing golden beams of his eyes surprised Ikaris, then the kid smirking at him made him frown, something in that smirk irritated Ikaris, he just couldn't tell what.

"Who're-" When Ikaris was about to speak Beat shot to where he felt the Eternals regrouping looking back he saw Ikaris flying behind him in the same direction, stifling a laugh he let gravity pull him down, making a small dust cloud he looked around.

'I wonder, did this body's age make me more childish, or was I always this way? I don't remember any of my past life interaction with people but I still have the feeling of awkwardness when I do something different.' Beat thought while dispersing the dust with a telekinetic pulse.

'There's no giant deviant here, it seems this is not the same scene from the movie.'

After making sure he wasn't conveniently placed to fight in the same movie scene he saw in his past life he looked at the group of curious immortals.

"Hi! My name is Beat! Nice to meet you all!" He said smiling at them. They kept staring until Makkari nudged Kingo who was on her side and said something to him in sign language.

"...Seriously!? Ah- nice to meet you too, my friend here said you helped her save people, you have our thanks, but what are you? You aren't human right?" Kingo said after talking with Makkari for a bit.

"What would make you think that?" Beat said with a fake dumbfounded face.

"Well, I don't know, the powers you showed while fighting made this conclusion kinda obvious, I would've guessed Asgardian if I didn't know they don't have a fricking tail!"

Hearing Kingo talk about his tail Beat frowned, he always kept it curled up on his waist and covered with his shirt, "What are you talking about-?"

Looking to his side, at the corner of his vision Beat saw his tail freely moving around, "You! Why would you betray me like that!"

Seeing the kid reprimanding his tail like it was a child eased a bit of the worry of the immortal heroes, to them this kid was a mysterious newcomer that was fairly strong and they didn't know anything about, but seeing him acting like a- well, child and friendly eased their worries, Makkari was the most relaxed one, she saw him saving dozens of humans, after all, not all of them were so easy to convince though.

"You still didn't answer the question." Ikaris firmly said.

"Huh? Ah! Yes, I'm not human, that's a problem?" Beat said while floating and holding his tail in his two hands.

"Depends, what is your purpose on this planet?" Gilgamesh said with a small smile.

"I've lived on this planet ever since I can remember, so I don't think I have an actual purpose to be here so to speak, but if I had to say it would be the same as every living being, just survive." Beat shrugged while saying.

"Just survive huh? That's... normal"

"Hey! You guys should introduce yourselves too, I still don't know your names that's kinda rude you know." Beat said while crossing his arms and floating in a seated position.

Then they all began introducing themselves with Kingo introducing Makkari, the last to introduce herself was Thena, but she had more to say too.

"My name is Thena, I can see you're a bit too tense, why?." She said with a knowing smile while looking at Beat.

"I am... tense?" Beat repeated while looking at his hand, it was just slightly trembling, now more self-aware he could hear his heart beating strongly against his chest.

He smiled and said looking up to Thena, "Truth to be told, I've never encountered anyone who could keep up with me, and seeing you guys' powers, I became a little excited."

All Eternals had a surprised face hearing this, but what Beat said next was even more surprising.

"So this might be a bit strange but, could you guys fight me!?"

"What?" Kingo voiced all his friends' thoughts with one word.

"...That's certainly strange but understandable, very well I will spar with you, I know how it is to want to test your limits." Thena said while taking a few steps forward.

"Are you sure Thena?" Gilgamesh asked with a troubled look.

"Yes." Thena easily replied.

"Just go easy on him he's just a kid." Kingo said while walking some distance and sitting down, Makkari and Ikaris did the same after a few seconds.

Gilgamesh just sighed in defeat and make himself the arbiter, "Okay, you two, listen to me!" As he said that they looked at him.

"Don't force yourselves, let's keep it safe, to win you have to knock down your opponent, simple as that, If I see someone  bleeding I'll stop it right away." He said the last part while looking at Beat, and seeing him nodding, he nodded himself and took several steps back.

"Ready... began!"

As he heard this word Beat carved the ground with his feet, he sprinted directly at Thena who took a low stance with her hands forward, he right away gave a spinning back kick that Thena just dodged, when he saw that he continued with a punch while still on the air, but Thena blocked it with her arm.

"You're much faster and stronger than a human, but you will have to do more than that to surprise me." Thena said with a smile.

"I'm just starting!" Beat replied with a wide smile while moving much faster than before, he closed the distance and gave a straight punch to Thena's face, she dodged again and held his arm with her right hand then tried to throw him over her shoulder, but Beat didn't budge, he pulled back his arm making Thena lose balance doing so, he used this chance to connect a left hook to her temple making her fly and roll a few meters.

"He's really strong!" Kingo commented from the side.

"Now, that's something." Thena said while getting up, she took a stance a summoned a shield and a blunt spear, when she was about to jump back in, an earth wall blocked her way.

"What the hell are you doing!"

Looking in the scream direction they saw Ajak, Druig, Phastos, Sprite, and Sersi walking in their direction, the first and the last with a pissed-off expression.
