Prisoners of terrorism

'Unfortunate it was but I guess peace will finally befall upon me with this death'.

She raised her arm, palm open with tattered gloves barely covering her finger. Snowflakes fell over it calmly, making her wonder if it was going to be as peaceful as this feeling.

The old building was already crumbling under the dark hazy sky, but it was lit from everywhere as the surrounding was on fire and soon, she was going to burn to death.

Beside her lied a dead girl.

'How did everything start?' she stared at the girl beside her and wondered. With her dull eyes, she sure knew about her approaching death but who would've thought that it was just the beginning!

Three hours ago

"Sister are you sure we aren't twins?" a girl gleefully asked while sitting inside a prison like room that was packed from three side with walls having deep cracks. The last side was packed with rails from where she was staring outside, her hands holding those rusty rails tightly.

Tia gave a stern look. She was holding a submachine gun in her hand and making rounds around the corridor that had dim light with many more prisons.

A dirty olive colour uniform and hair tied into bun. Even with her skin that was dirty, it was clear that the girl in the prison and the one who has kept her locked looked similar.

That became the reason for Leigh to keep bothering her kidnapper.

Well, yes, this situation wasn't of a civil society where people were locked because they did a crime and this place was neither a prison house, rather it was a place occupied by terrorists.

Selling of organs, slaves mostly women and murdering was the prime source of income for this terrorist group so that they can keep pulling on for their main goal.

"Hey girl, how many times do I have to say? I am not your sister, so keep that mouth shut till you want to die," Tia gave a deadly look, but nothing worked.

For Leigh, she was amazed by that look, "If only I could have made that expression in front of those geezers…" she paused, drawing her gaze down and swallowed.

She was in some rags, sitting on the cold ground that she got used to recently.

"Anyways, I have told you this again and again but just for you I will say it again, my name is Leigh… so, call me Leigh and not 'hey girl'".

She looked firm speaking confidently as if she knew that nothing was going to happen.

Tia pressed her temple, she looked tired by those constant nags.

"84!"

"Yes sir," she turned back as soon as her team head called for her.

That was the number she got as she made her way inside the terrorist group unwillingly. Just like her, others had different number, too and all those members including her were treated as a mere body that could be thrown at any moment.

As the heavy steps reached toward her, she glanced at Leigh once and placed her gaze back at the man who stopped in front of her.

He was also wearing a uniform but of black colour, that showed his superiority against her and the eagle crest over his chest, showed his rank.

Tia took a step back and raised on her toes once as she saluted him by keeping her right arm over her chest, "Greetings sir," her voice loud.

The man with narrow eyes stared Leigh for a moment and grinned as his eyes fall back at Tia.

He placed his hand over her shoulder, "84, what do you think about exchanging your position for a while?".

What Tia feared was almost about to come true. She swallowed keeping her nervous eyes down and slowly moved it up, "I don't understand sir."

"Haiz… I never thought you would be such a slow one. Forget it," he waved his hand aloofly, "Her family is ready to give a huge ransom, but I was thinking of killing two birds with one shot. Now you understand. Just go there for some time and with her family wealth keep supporting us. Do you get it," he patted slightly at her shoulder and started to laugh loudly.

His wrinkles made his laughter more gruesome.

Leigh on the other side become petrified. Just the thought of it was horrific for her. she was staying here silently because she believed that someday they will let her go once her family seeks for her but under this situation things appeared impossible.

He talked a few more things with Tia and after another glance at Leigh, he left.

"You aren't going to do that, are you?" Leigh grabbed Tia's leg. She was struggling while taking her hand out from the tiny gap of the rails.

Tia shrugged and moved away, "Now you know the situation you are in. Just stay silent and don't speak much. Things here can't happen to your liking".

That was the only thing she said when another person of the same status as her came while dragging an old man and threw him inside the prison where Leigh was.

The old man was in an expensive suit and as he started to cough, the man who looked notorious and young said, "Don't you dare give him a drop of water. Let him die here while coughing. I want to see his eyes dropping out," he snickered.

Behind him was another man who looked calm and sharp. Though Tia nodded and that notorious person left but the one who came together with him stood there.

He closed the gap between them and placed his hand over Tia's shoulder as he whispered, "I know what you have been doing till now. Remember, one wrong move and your mercy will bestow death upon all this people".

After speaking in a chilly manner, that man left too.
