Chapter 1A taste of my life

Dear Sebastian,

People may call me wretched,a whore or even good for nothing but you my son I would want you to know what accounted for your wretched mother to have such titles .

Sebastian I have given you the free will as your mother to also call me anything you wish

But be kind enough to hear about my side of the story .

My father was the epitome of a noble man. His love, care, and sacrifices had always kept our family united. We have never lacked any of these. In fact, our family was envied by many.

I come from the Lockwood family, the most admired family of the 20th century. My name is Reina, the firstborn child of Mr. Sylvester Lockwood and Mrs. Ray Lockwood. My parents were blessed with three children: Alexander, Archie, and me.

Archie is the youngest—just three years old. Alexander and I, however, have never been close, even though he's only a year younger than me. I am fourteen years old.

My life is perfect. I am the heiress of a great fortune. My father, a renowned architect celebrated for his unique architectural style, has built a legacy that made us wealthy. Yet, despite his work and success, he always makes time for us.

He often says, "Cherish every moment with your loved ones before it's gone. Time cannot be tamed."

Whenever he tells me this, I simply smile.

My mom is the most beautiful woman I've ever known. Her long blonde hair and striking emerald-green eyes catch the attention of everyone she meets. She always dreamed of becoming a model, but she chose to run a restaurant to support my dad and our family.

I've inherited her long blonde hair, rosy lips, and curvy figure, but I don't think I compare to her goddess-like beauty. While I have hazel-brown eyes and snow-white skin, my appearance feels far less captivating than hers.

Alex, on the other hand, is the spitting image of our father. With his thick black hair and the emerald-green eyes he "stole" from Mom, he is the definition of handsomeness. He's a responsible young man, always carrying himself with a maturity that earns admiration.

Then there's Archie, my adorable little sister. At just three years old, she has round, rosy cheeks, hazel eyes with a hint of emerald, long black curly hair, and milky white skin. She's the perfect blend of my parents and an absolute delight to everyone around her.

Alex and I are both in junior high school, while Archie is still too young to start school. Alex and I don't always get along, though. Whenever he picks a fight with me, I can always count on my best friend to help me escape.

Lisa is my one and only friend, the person who understands me so well. She's all I have, the greatest blessing school ever gave me.

We have so much in common, from our personalities to our sense of style. We match everything we own, and it's as if we're soul sisters. Lisa is incredibly beautiful, with thick brown curly hair and an adorably round face. She looks like an angel descended from heaven.

Her father works with my dad, which means we get plenty of time to hang out together. We always make the most of it, often teaming up to tease Alex.

I've been counting down the days until winter vacation, longing to spend time with Lisa. Finally, the day came—our long-awaited vacation began. It was November 25th, a day I will always remember, though not for the reasons I had hoped.

The day started normally, but everything changed when my dad came home early from work. He announced that he had to leave suddenly for the northern lands to handle an important project. He promised to return as soon as the work was done.

To make things worse, Lisa and her family would be traveling with him. My mom, devastated by the news, begged to go with him, but my dad insisted it wouldn't be safe for Archie. The harsh cold winds of the northern lands would be too much for her.

So, I stayed behind with my mom, watching helplessly as my dad and Lisa departed.

So, I stayed with my brother, my mom, and Archie. Together, we followed my dad as he departed. My mom waved goodbye to him until his shadow disappeared from sight.

He wrote letters to my mom whenever he could, telling her about the beautiful northern lands. He described the stunning landscapes and how he planned to build beautiful estates there. He even suggested that we might move to the northern lands once Alex and I finished school.

Lisa wrote to me every week as well, sharing stories about their time there and how much she missed me.

Then, on the 20th of December, the news finally came—they were on their way back home. I couldn't sleep the entire night from excitement. My mom admitted, "I didn't even blink the whole night."

The next morning, my mom and I woke up early and prepared a sumptuous meal to welcome my dad and his crew. Then, we went straight to the docks to wait for their ship.

The moment we saw their ship approaching, we couldn't help but sob silently. I could see how much my mom missed my dad, and even Alex, who rarely showed emotion, seemed moved.

Lisa's father was the first to descend from the ship, hand in hand with his wife. I scanned the crowd eagerly, looking for Lisa. When I finally spotted her, she was holding the hand of another girl who looked to be about our age.

I ran to Lisa and hugged her tightly, but she still held on to the girl. Curious, I asked, "Who is she?"

Lisa smiled and said, "Meet Geynie. She's just like you."

I turned to look at the girl and, for a moment, I was stunned. She really did look like me. The only difference was her black hair and piercing blue eyes.

She smiled warmly at me and asked, "What's your name?"

I replied softly, "I'm Reina."

She praised my name and my beauty, and I returned the compliment. But deep down, I couldn't bring myself to like her—especially the way she clung to my Lisa's arm.

In my distraction, I had completely forgotten about my dad. Then, there he was, descending from the ship as graciously as ever. But something was different this time.

Walking just behind him was a modest yet breathtakingly beautiful woman. She was the very definition of a goddess, with an aura that radiated warmth and comfort. She lingered close but remained slightly behind my dad, her presence impossible to ignore.

My mom, not noticing her at first, ran straight to my dad and gave him the warmest hug I had ever seen. He nearly broke down in tears, overwhelmed by her reaction.

Then, the woman cleared her throat, and suddenly all eyes turned to her. My dad quickly introduced her as Dinah McQueen.

To my surprise, my mom nearly burst into tears again, this time exclaiming that Dinah was her long-lost childhood friend. They had done everything together growing up. Dinah smiled and hugged my mom tightly, saying how much she had missed her.

After their heartfelt reunion, my mom introduced us to Dinah. She bent down, pinched my cheeks gently, and complimented my beauty, saying I was the spitting image of my mother.

Without hesitation, my mom invited Dinah to our house to share the meal we had prepared.

During the meal, Dinah shared her story. She explained that Geynie was her daughter and that her husband had abandoned them when Geynie was very young. My mom was visibly saddened and expressed her sympathy.

But Dinah didn't dwell on the pain. Instead, she spoke proudly of how she had risen above it all, becoming independent and building a thriving empire after her husband's betrayal.
