Chapter 5

He was returning to class to pick up his things. He was sure everyone had already left, but he didn't really care. As he stood in front of the class, he remembered the warning given to him by Recovery Girl and shivered. She shouted at All Might too, but she was right. He was naïve, thinking that just having One for All, meant he was strong. To the contrary, his bad control over the quirk, meant that he hurt himself when using it.

'If I can't use my quirk, how could I replace All Might?'

He had to ask him for advice on using his quirk, if he wanted to be useful.

'Argh, Aizawa-sensei is gonna chew me out! Getting put in the infirmary again will have made him mad.'

Having cleared his head from negative thoughts, he slid open the door.

"Oh guys, he's back!"

"Man that fight was amazing!"

"It got us all pumped up!"

"Huh?!"

He wasn't expecting anyone to still be here, but it looked as if some people stayed back to greet them. He almost started crying from happiness, but he managed to hold himself back.

"I'm Eijiro Kirishima! We were all discussing the battle training!" Kirishima was a red-haired, red-eyed boy that was just slightly taller than him.

"I'm Mina Ashido! You dodge real well!" Mina was an alien looking girl with pink skin.

"I'm Tsuyu Asui. Call me Tsuyu." She had green hair, and due to her quirk had some frog characteristics.

"I'm Sato" Sato was the tallest of them all and had a stocky build.

"Whoa! I'm Izuku Midoryia."

He had been unprepared for their welcome and had gotten flustered, but they were all nice and didn't force him to talk.

"Thank you."

Then he heard the voice of a girl call out to him.

"Oi, Midoryia we are going out to eat in the weekend, want to come with?"

"Ah, Misaka-san! I want to come, but Recovery Girl said that I should avoid it."

"Ah, I see, that's a shame. We'll see you next time."|

Picking up his things he was about to leave when Uraraka caught up to him.

"U-Uhm Deku, is your arm healed?"

"Ah, not quite. Recovery Girl said I should relax, so I need to get going."

"Ah, well. See you next week. Get well soon."

Everyone wished for him to come back safely, and he felt happy.

In his previous school, he was shunned for being quirkless, but here everyone was friendly, no one knowing that he was truly quirkless. Bidding them goodbye he picked up his things and quickly left to catch up to Bakugo and tell him the truth about his quirk, something he expected to go horribly, considering his explosive personality and hate for him.

Misaka Pov

Midoryia had left, and shortly after, so did everyone else. She herself had work to do at night. The number of Villains roaming the streets had been reduced and though she wanted to believe that they had just retreated, she felt something was amiss.

The few Villains she had captured this week, were talking about how <<that man>> was planning an attack, but she did not know when.

Her plan was simple.

She would follow one of the Villains that would take part in the attack and find their hideout, and she would fish for information there.

With that she set her plan in motion.

Finding a Villain to follow was easy, because they didn't think they would be followed. He walked into a café that was full of Villains. The leader seemed to be a teenager that was covered in hands. He looked like trouble. Hiding in a corner she started listening.

"See this article here? All Might has become a teacher. This is the perfect opportunity to kill him. What do you think would happen if we killed him? Our society would go into disarray and Villains would rise! Are you with me?"

"Yeaaah, let's kill those heroes."

Each and every one of the Villains was bloodthirsty, craving for the death of the Heroes.

"We will attack at Wednesday. Everyone is free to join us in our crusade. We have the perfect weapon to kill him, this thing here the <<Nomu>>"

As he finished his speech, he pointed to his left. Misaka had not seen it yet, but as she turned her attention at where he was pointing, she gagged.

It was a birdlike creature with its brain exposed. It looked as if it came from a horror movie. She knew that she had to make a move now, if she wanted to stop it.

With a blast of lightning she shut the lights down and moved to attack.

"Damn what was that? Kurogiri take us out of here"

With that the ringleader along with some others escaped the moment the attack started, through some portal like thing, leaving the Nomu and some weaklings behind to fight her.

The Villains that remained were weak, and without managing to put up a fight, were knocked unconscious. Just as she was getting ready to face the Nomu, a punch flew to her.

She narrowly dodged, barely being able to sense the punch coming.

Regaining her footing she shot a lightning blast, but to her surprise it came out unscathed.

With a loud boom she felt something hard hit her. It was a punch from the Nomu. Thankfully she had put up a Iron Sand Shield that absorbed most of the damage, or else she would be a paste in the wall. The Iron Sand Shield also cut open her opponents hands. She was sure it had been damaged, so seeing it still remain uninjured, meant that it probably had a regeneration Quirk.

Even when using the Rampage Dress, her power output was still much lower than the monsters she was faced with. At her maximum Output with the Rampage Dress she was strong enough to destroy a small building, but this one seemed to be much stronger.

The Rampage Dress was a versatile power, giving her inhuman physical statistics and regeneration, but her body had a limit. She knew how to overcome that limit, but was afraid of doing it. Manipulating her bio-electricity and permanently changing it was dangerous and needed precision she didn't have. If she failed she would most probably die.

Faced with such a strong opponent she cursed herself for becoming arrogant. She had thought herself stronger than anyone in this world, casually winning against Villains using only a miniscule amount of her power, but was seeing now that this was not the truth, as she could not take down this monster. She felt extremely angry at her naivety. Had she not faced scores of people stronger than her in her own world? She had become complacent, stopping the development of her abilities.

She knew she could not win. Her energy reserves were almost depleted and she started to retreat, promising to herself to never get complacent again. As she turned to flee from the battle she saw the bird like thing appear in front of her, cutting of her escape routes. The powerlessness she felt in front of the monster, reminded herself of that first battle with Accelerator, only this time there was no Touma here to help her. If she wanted to win she would have to do it on her own.

She felt as if her skull was about to break, like losing all sense of self.

Her wish to destroy the monster in front of her and the intense feelings inside her had truly <<awakened>> her. Black wings, dozens of meters big exploded out of her back. Though she registered the changes in herself she was only a passenger in her body now.

Her capabilities had improved to unimaginable levels. Her body, enhanced by the awakening and the Rampage Dress was now strong enough to go head to head against the monster. Of course even instinctually she was not stupid enough to fight it in a brawl.

General POV

The emergence of the huge black wings had led many Heroes to where they were. It could either be a Villain or a Vigilante or even a Quirk gone rampant. Whatever it was, it was still destructive and dangerous.

Where the commotion was happening a winged girl was fighting a humanoid bird like monster. The girl was fighting it on equal terms, overpowering it even. She was enveloped in a storm of sand that acted as shield and had a sword in both of her hands. Though they were made from Iron Sand, they were still strong enough to cut the monster. On a normal human even a normal cut could be fatal, but the monster was regenerating. It seemed to be regenerating at a slower pace now though, the damage coming from inside and outside proving too much for its regeneration to completely counter.

A black lighting blast was shot at the monster and in an anticlimactic end to the battle it was vaporized, its regeneration useless in this case. Though she could have done this before her awakening, her mental inhibitions stopped her. Now though, the situation had changed. With the awakening, came a loss of moral inhibitions. Thus the battle ended. At the same time though, a score of Heroes had arrived at the scene.

The lightning blast had been strong enough to vaporize not only the enemy, but a chunk of the area around it as well due to its sheer heat. This fact alone had made the Hero Commission alter her to an A-Class, due to the destruction she had caused. Top Heroes like Endeavor and Kamui Woods had been called, the Hero Commission judging her to be dangerous to the city, and no other urgent Villain attack.

As the Heroes came they were shocked at the sight. A girl stood at the middle of the crater, black wings sprouting from her back. This was the one they were supposed to catch, but doubt filled their minds. Such a young girl capable of causing this much destruction was unheard of. Then with a flap of her wings and a burst of oxygen she approached them in a quick pace. Multiple oxygen detonations followed the first one, making her reach the Heroes in no time. Only Kamui Woods and Endeavor were fast enough to react to her charge, but they had managed to block it, just barely.

The girl had started to become tired. The awakening and the battle with the Nomu, had tired her, and her energy reserves were still low. In a gamble to stop the Heroes, she shocked their nerves, in order to incapacitate them. Because she was not familiar with manipulating another person's bio-electricity though, it was much more painful than she intended, but some endured the pain.

"Hey, come back here you Villain!"

"Argh! What's up with this?"

"Why can't I move?"

Several Heroes were confused by not being able to move, but the more experienced ones were unfazed from the attack. Unfortunately for the Heroes the girl had managed to escape in the meantime.

A pillar of flame erupted from a Hero. It was Endeavor. He was mad

He had never been this humiliated again, even more so when fighting against a little girl. He was a prideful and dutiful hero who aimed to become the number 1 in Hero Society, but All Might with his charming personality and strong quirk was always ahead of him. It didn't matter if he was more efficient than him. He would always win the masses. Yet he accepted the fact that All Might was the strongest. But such a humiliating defeat had wounded his pride but also ignited something in him. The desire to get stronger!

Why had he given up so many years ago in his chase of the Number 1 throne? Why did he despair in front of All Might's seemingly insurmountable feats? He was the second strongest hero at only 20 years old. With hard work, dedication and his own talent he could have reached All Might's level! He would beat him on merit, not through his offspring. If a young girl that seemed to be on his level or perhaps surpassing him was here, why could he not reach All Might now? The potential of quirks was limitless after all. Though he would still drive Shoto to become even stronger than him and All Might, he would strive too to reach that level.

In a dark alley some kilometers away a girl could be seen puking.

This was Misaka Mikoto.

She could remember what she did when she lost control of her body and she was horrified. What she did to the monster was inhumane and even more so what she did to the heroes. She was able to control her own neurons and bio-electricity, with danger to herself. But to other people; that was simply reckless. However she felt as if a new horizon had opened for her, her fine control over bio-electricity advancing leaps and bounds from before.

This new-found control meant she could finally do the one thing she thought critical but impossible to do. Change her bio-electricity, enhancing herself. Of course this would be a gradual progress. Clearing her mind from the negative thoughts she started.

With a now clear mind she focused inward on her electricity. Slowly she started amping up her bio-electricity. It felt euphoric in a sense. As she was doing it, she felt herself get stronger, better, and in such a state she lost control. She spat blood. She was bleeding from inside now. She had to stop it.

In panic she activated the Rampage Dress, but all it did was make the situation worse. She was in deep trouble now.

She had been wise enough to try to do this near a hospital, fearing any repercussions. Dragging herself to the hospital was much harder than she expected. She was more powerful in every manner than the strongest quirkless human now, but that could be her undoing. Stabilizing herself in a wall she walked towards the hospital, careful not to trip or accidentally breaking the wall, but the pain was too much for her and she fell.

In a final desperate bid to reach the hospital she forced her mind to run the calculations to magnetically attract herself to the hospital. She barreled in the hospital from the front door, completely smashing it spreading glass everywhere and activating the alarms.

As she began losing consciousness, she saw some doctors come check out the commotion that happened. She knew they were not obligated to help her, but with a final push of her willpower, managed to take out her I.D Card and some money.

To say that the doctors were surprised at their visitor would be an understatement. It was the dead of the night, and nobody expected a high-school girl to come here, much less in such serious condition. Thankfully she had given them identification, so they knew who to call. First they called her apartment owner and then her teachers from U.A. The apartment owner came quickly and from U.A High school came Recovery Girl and her homeroom teacher.

She was now resting in a hospital bed the doctors outside filling in the adults on her injuries.

"From what we managed to see, she has heavy internal damage, but we were able to gather more information, perhaps because of her quirk. We gave her some stuff to stabilize her, but any particular treatment will have to wait for her to get up." The head doctor a young adult told the three concerned adults.

The oldest of the visitors had something to say though

"As her school nurse, it is my right to check up on her. Of course I could also help her with my quirk, if you would allow me to."

The doctor couldn't find any flaw with that logic and relented, allowing her entrance to the room.

After some seconds the girl seemed to recover, and slowly her eyes fluttered open.

She had just opened her eyes when she saw the faces of three very concerned adults hovering over her. She recognized them. It was Eraser Head, her teacher, Recovery Girl, the school nurse and of course the landlord, Mr. Haru.

She was not ready for the word-abuse she was about to face.

"Young Lady, where do you think you are going?" she had tried to leave the room, but an exasperated Eraser Head restricted her movements.

Seeing as she had no better option she spun a lie about how she got into the situation. After all, the truth meant she would reveal herself as an A-rank Villain. After some explaining, and a rant from all the adults, she was on her knees begging forgiveness.

"So? What did we say?"

" <<No fighting Villains on my own. Call the Heroes and stall for time.>>"

"You understand what this means right?"

"Yes, Teacher"

"Good. Both Recovery Girl and I have decided that you will take some days off until you fully recover. In the meantime, you will stay with Mr. Haru so you don't do something reckless on your own, alright?"

"Yes, Teacher"

"And I promise next lesson will be special."

With that the two teachers bid them adieu and left leaving them alone.

After that they checked her out of the hospital and they drove home. The trip was silent, only pierced by the radio. When they arrived at the apartments Mr. Haru told her to bring her things and she obliged. She had come to see him as a kind of father figure, here in this world, but she still didn't know much about him.

Perhaps in this period of time she would only be able to come up with ideas for her powers and learn to control her newly enhanced body but learn about the story of Mr. Haru.

With that final thought she drifted off to sleep, happy with her progress.
