Hunting Dolphins

Dolphins. There were more than twenty dolphins in a flurry, swimming frantically away from the three ships. In the seine net the ships had extended, there were already a few captured dolphins.

"Squeak, squeak." The high pitched sounds filled Chu Xian's mind, disturbing his heart and leaving him with worries.

The dolphins' sounds were ultrasonic and beyond the human hearing range, but Chu Xian's sonar detection could pick up all the panic and despair. His face turned dark.

"Quickly, quickly, don't let them escape!" Vague and unclear voices filled the night sky with Japanese words that Chu Xian couldn't understand.

"They are hunting dolphins?"

Chu Xian looked out at the fishing ships encircling the dolphins and listened to the panicked sounds of the fleeing creatures and his face fell.

Dolphins were a second grade protected animal, and Chinese white dolphins were first grade. Historically, dolphins had always been friendly and cute animals.
