In Baiyi's opinion, mentality was in fact the most important factor in becoming a powerful person. A heart that had confidence, perseverance and the desire to pursue for limits was often more important and harder to develop than a person's innate aptitude and capability. That was also why from the very beginning, he paid great attention in slowly guiding Mia's mentality and developing her desire in the pursuit of power. That no doubt would be a great foundation for her in the future.
That plan of Baiyi was acknowledged by the majority of the Voidwalkers other than the talented Caveman who was born with high innate aptitude. Most of the Walkers had similar attitudes in their past lives, allowing them to reach the pinnacle of their power.
Certainly, that mentality also needed to be adjusted and corrected from time to time. He would never allow Mia to become the kind of person who would use unscrupulous method to obtain power. That was why Baiyi chose to use a soft and slow method, instead of using hate or desire to catalyze her growth. He had plenty of time in his hand so there was no rush at all. The Voidwalkers had long been accustomed to waiting anyway.
After he had finally coaxed Mia, Baiyi did not intend to continue the lesson. Instead, he explained to her the general situation and the conditions that he made with the presidents, especially the two days break.
"Eh? B-But... Why don't you break the barrier y-yourself, Mr Hope?" Baiyi asked innocently.
"Because, this is your time to shine, Mia. It's the best chance for you to show your talent to the presidents so that when you finally take the first place in the final exam later, you'll be able to enter the Golden Rose class smoothly and become classmates with Tisdale. Don't you want that, Mia?" Baiyi explained patiently.
"Err... I-I do want to become classmate with Big Sis Tisdale b-b-but, Mr. Hope... M-My innate aptitude is... er... AHHH! Mr. Hope! D-Don't pinch me!" Mia continued to say without any confidence but before she could finish her sentence, Baiyi was already pinching her soft cheeks.
"Being able to summon me is the best proof of your innate aptitude. An ordinary student will never be able to summon me, you know, Mia." Baiyi said as he released the hand that was pinching her cheeks. Helping her to rub that sore spot, he continued, "As for the barrier, it's not complicated at all. I promise that you'll be able to finish learning it within one day with your innate aptitude. So, stop worrying and think about where we should go tomorrow, okay?"
In the end, Mia did not give much thought on where they should go as she quickly fell asleep with the hammerhead doll in her arms. Instead, it was the Voidwalkers who were all worked up and excited over the question as they started to discuss it enthusiastically.
"A POOL! HOT SPRINGS! OR THE LAKE! The weather is getting hotter now, there's nothing more suitable than going into the water!" The Paladin was the first to voice out his opinion excitedly, he turned to the youngest Apprentice and asked, "Sir Apprentice, there should be a place in Arfin city that is suitable for us to escape the intense heat, right?"
"There is. Many students like to go there as well. As a matter of fact, it's quite a suitable time to go now." The Apprentice replied.
"MUAHAHAHAHA! PERFECT! Let's go there, Sir Hope! Now that the weather is so hot, Mia still have to wear her uniform and that long stockings everyday! It's time for her to cool her body down a little, don't you think so?" The Paladin went on to say.
Well, he really did have a point. There was a cooling spell in the classroom but in the dorm, the temperature was quite high actually. Every night during her nightly lessons with Baiyi, she would sweat so much that her white nightdress would stick onto her chest and her back that caused her nightdress to appear translucent. Because of that, Baiyi got more than an eyeful of what he should not see.
So I suppose it should be okay for me to bring her there right? Even though I can use magic to create a similar effect but somehow the real thing is still better...
"GREAT! Well then, let us discuss the most important topic now!" the Paladin said excitedly, "What kind of swimsuit should we choose for Mia? A traditional one piece? Or a bold bikini?"
"Hmm... With that petite body of hers, I think a one-piece would be better. After all, her body is not fully developed. Wait a minute, now that I think about it, a lacy bikini sounds quite good as well. It can maximize the exposure of her skin!" The Astrologer followed up.
"You're right! Even though she doesn't have much of a chest yet but she does have a slender waist. Her legs are well-rounded and long as well.. Ah... I really want to lick it..." The Engineer chimed in.
"In that case, why don't we just let her forgo the swimsuit? We can just ask Sir Hope to use his Mana to create a shadow and light effect to cover the crucial parts. Not only will it give off a kind of unique and hazy charm, it can also save us some money! Isn't this the perfect idea?" The Cleric proposed a bolder suggestion.
Needless to say, Silence Spell was cast almost instantaneously on those few guys. Satisfied, Baiyi then turned to the rest of the Walkers and said, "Alright, let us begin our discussion properly, where should we bring our little girl tomorrow?"
"Er... S-Sir Hope? Are we only starting a proper discussion now? Could it be that you were just, erm, setting up a trap earlier?" The Painter asked with a tiny voice.
Of course! If I don't find an excuse to deal with those few guys, how are we supposed to carry out the discussion normally? How can I possibly agree to go to the pool? Baiyi said righteously. Truthfully speaking, I actually want to bring her to some of the most famous historical sites in the city.
The Shadow who usually did not talk much suddenly said, "Sir Hope, why don't you let Mia be the one who decides these little things? You can't possibly make all of the decisions for her, you know?"
Hmmm... You're right! I guess, I've been worrying too much... Baiyi thought to himself.
The next morning, Mia woke up and after she had greeted Baiyi who was pruning the plants, she took off her nightdress and put on a lovely pink dress, exposing her white jade arms and two lovely calves. She then smoothed out her hair and casually let them bounce behind her back before pinning a cute cartoon-styled little kitten on her head. Choosing a pair of open-toed sandals, she slipped her feet in and neatly tied the sandals ribbons into a beautiful bow at her ankles.
"Mr. Hope, shall we leave now?" With her head tilted slightly, she kept both of her hands behind her body that was leaning forward, an excited smile could be seen on face as she asked.
Aww... Look at how cute this little girl is! If those few hentai Walkers were not bound by the Silence Spell, I'm pretty sure the Void would be filled with all sorts of pero-pero comments now, Baiyi thought to himself. Then, turning his head to look outside of the window, he realized that the sun was blazing hot today. Immediately, he suggested, "You don't plan to put on a hat or something?"
"Oh! I forgot!" Playfully, Mia stuck out her small tongue and quickly ran over to her closet where she picked out a white sunhat that had a purple ribbon on top of it. After she put it on, it added just the right amount of elegance, making her appeared to be more beautiful and charming.
Even though she was dressed very simply and casually, she looked as dazzling as a little angel. As they were walking on the road, Baiyi who was holding her hand could not help but feel overwhelmed with a sense of pride that he had such a lovely practitioner! This is indeed wonderful!
"Do you have any place that you want to go?" Baiyi asked.
"Err~ Just strolling around the city is perfectly fine with me." Mia lifted her head up and casually replied. She was such a simple girl that who was easily satisfied.
"Well, then, let us have our meal first. Somebody recommended me a good old shop somewhere. Apparently their lamb chop is very good." Baiyi exclaimed. Of course, the recommendation came from none other than the Apprentice. He was the only normal person in the group of Voidwalkers and he was also one of the most reliable. At the very least, the elegant decoration and quiet environment of the small shop was very much to his liking.
As for the taste, well, he could not eat anyway. But looking at how she was eating with great appetite, the taste must be quite good right? Of course, the price was not cheap as well.
It's a small matter. Just watching that satisfied smile on her face is already worth it. Although Baiyi was quite conservative, he was in no way stingy. Looking at Mia's face that looked like she was yearning for more, he asked, "Do you want to get another set back for dinner?"
"No, it's alright," Sensibly, Mia shook her head, "It must be expensive here, right? I've never even eaten such a delicious lamb chop with my dad before. This is your hard earned money, Mr. Hope. We can't just waste it like that."
The money is for you to spend, my dear... Touched, Baiyi was immediately overwhelmed with warmth. Just as he was about to order another set from the waiter, a loud voice could be heard coming from the small private room beside them.
"TISDALE! Even if you're really gifted and talented, DO NOT try to go against the whole family! Your grandfather and father have already sacrificed too much for this ridiculous agreement! Our family also have already fulfilled our obligations! It's time to let go now!"
Having said that, a potbellied middle-aged man angrily shoved open the private room door and strode out in great rage. He even threw a dirty glance at Baiyi and Mia before he walked out fuming.
"What is wrong with this man? Look at how angry he is..." Baiyi murmured to himself as he turned back and took a peek into the private room. Just in time, he saw Tisdale who was sitting by the table and holding her forehead in distress, at the same time sighing and murmuring something to herself. The delicious food that was placed on the table was left untouched.
Did this beauty meet with some adolescent troubles? Just as Baiyi was considering whether he should go up to have a talk with her, Mia, who was originally by his side, was already making her way to the room. With a distressed look, she stood by the door and asked in a low tone, "B-Big Sis Tisdale?
For a moment, Tisdale looked up blankly and when she saw the unexpected guest, a complex expression quickly flashed across her face. Finally forcing a smile, she asked in a tired voice, "Mia-chan? Why are you here?"
