Months have gone by and Amy slowly bounced back to her old self. Memories of Edmond and their happy times together occasionally flashes but does not hurt like before. She has accepted fate. "Happy ever after" was for children's books, not in real life.
She got back to what she used to love, taking pictures of the sky. It was a sunny afternoon and it felt like the farm was calling her to come back. She has not been there since she got sick. It will only remind her of the good times with Edmond.
The 4 o'clock train arrived and headed to her favorite spot. She sat under the tree and while getting her phone ready, she realized that she was not alone. She heard movements behind the tree and when she looked, Edmond was sitting there. He looked like in deep thought. Amy immediately slumped quietly hoping that he did not notice her. She was slowly trying to move out when she heard Edmond speak:
"Stay! Don't go. Just stay for a while."
Amy froze when she heard his voice. He was aware that she was there. She stayed frozen trying to figure what was going to happen next. Edmond did not move and just remained staring at the view in front of him. Amy started to relax but remained silent. They were seated back to back with the tree in the middle. Somehow, them being together like that feels comforting. They remained that way for a few minutes. None of them spoke.
Edmond got up, dusted his pants. Amy heard him got up so she looked up. Edmond did not look back. He started to walk away and leave ahead. Amy kept on looking at him as he left. She did not stop him and he did not look back. Somehow, looking at his back while he walked away, was the answers she was waiting for.
