In the interstellar space between the U5 System and the Demon Star System lay a belt of chaotic asteroids, dimly lit and perfect for an ambush. To avoid raising suspicion, Feng Mo had brought only three combat starships. No one would suspect that with just three T4 starships, he was planning a heist.
As the fleet arrived at the coordinates, Feng Mo dialed into a video call with Lawrence. Once connected, the familiar sight of the Demon Lord's throne room appeared on-screen. Feng Mo clicked his tongue silently—clearly, the Demon Lord was not bold enough to oversee the trade in person.
"My friend, I regret you couldn't join us in person; otherwise, we could have shared a drink. The two resources you requested have arrived at the coordinates under escort. Where's your trade fleet?" Feng Mo asked.
The Demon Lord smiled sincerely and replied, "Next time, we'll drink together for sure. You're a trustworthy man. Only three escort ships? Forgive my caution. Running the Demon Star System isn't easy—it demands prudence. The trade fleet will arrive shortly. Please be patient."
The two exchanged pleasantries, with Lawrence subtly encouraging Feng Mo to consider further trades. Feng Mo gave casual responses. Five minutes later, a fleet of fifty-two starships appeared on the radar.
Among them were thirty-two combat starships and twenty T3 interstellar transports. Seeing the fleet, Feng Mo smiled genuinely—it was time to close the net.
The two fleets connected via video call, and Horlaw the Minotaur's large face appeared on-screen. He bowed to Lawrence and Feng Mo before speaking respectfully, "Good afternoon, my Lords. The fleet has arrived at the designated coordinates. We're ready to deploy the tractor beams for the trade."
Using advanced light-force technology, the tractor beams would transport numerous slaves from the Demon fleet to the T3 Red Worm transports. This required the beams of both fleets to link.
"Storm Star System is ready for the trade, my friend. Since we've shown our sincerity by only bringing three escort ships, it's not unreasonable to ask for the slaves to be transferred first using the tractor beams, is it?" Feng Mo requested.
Horlaw started to object, but Lawrence cut him off, "Not unreasonable at all. Horlaw, begin the slave transfer. A distinguished guest like the Lord of the Storm Star System deserves the best service."
"Yes, my Lord Demon," Horlaw replied. He then commanded forty T3 transport ships to link the tractor beams, connecting with the Red Worm ships to initiate the transfer.
Demon Star System soldiers ushered various slaves into the beams, where soldiers from Feng Mo's star system received them aboard the T3 Red Worm transports, guiding them to quarters for rest.
The trade proceeded smoothly. Once all the slaves were transferred, Feng Mo received confirmation from Hua Qin aboard the Red Worm.
"It was a pleasure doing business with you, but I regret to inform you, dear Demon Lord, that the dark matter and dark energy crystals you wanted will soon be taken by interstellar pirates. My apologies. I look forward to our next meeting," Feng Mo said, cutting off the video transmission as he sent out two messages.
Both fleets received his signal and moved in at maximum speed. Their advanced auto-targeting systems locked onto the Demon fleet's thirty-two combat starships, and the main and auxiliary cannons began charging.
On the other side, Lawrence and Horlaw were momentarily stunned as the video call cut off. Lawrence was the first to react, shouting, "Horlaw, order the combat ships to open fire on the Storm Lord's flagship, now!"
Before Horlaw could respond, the control room filled with the sound of mechanical alarms.
[ALERT! Unknown starships detected. Auto-targeting systems have locked onto our fleet. Calculations complete. Enemy fleet composition: 36 quasi-T5 starships, 72 T4 starships, and 55 T3 starships.]
The alert repeated three times. Lawrence, hearing it on his end, knew he was finished. Not only had he lost three valuable races but also ten million slaves and thirty-two T4 combat starships.
Furious, Lawrence's mental energy surged, lifting and flinging everything around him. Finally, he let out a roar in helpless anger, "Storm Lord! This isn't over. The Demon Star System will be your sworn enemy. You'd better never step outside Federation territory, or you'll wish you were dead!"
But Feng Mo had already disconnected, missing Lawrence's outburst. Otherwise, he would have enjoyed the sight of the Demon Lord in a fit of rage.
At the trade site, starships appeared on both sides of the coordinates, one group led by Chu Yunjian with the Chu family fleet and the other by Ai Er with the Storm Fleet. The two women, with Feng Mo out of sight, opened a private video call to chat.
When women share a common interest, they bond easily—especially when they share the same man. Although Chu Yunjian hadn't been intimate with Feng Mo, she was more than curious about such matters and kept asking Ai Er for practical insights. Judging from what she learned, Chu Yunjian concluded that spending a night with Feng Mo would be quite enjoyable. She seemed ready to take the next step.
Ai Er assured Chu Yunjian of her loyalty to Feng Mo and confirmed her willingness to follow Chu Yunjian's lead if she joined the family, as long as it didn't harm the Storm Star System or Feng Mo's interests.
Having grown up in a powerful family, Chu Yunjian was well-versed in palace intrigue and quickly recognized Ai Er's sincerity. She saw her as a true ally, though she still held some reservations about Kailan, the Elf Queen.
While the two women discussed private matters, Feng Mo, aboard the Hurricane, gave an order to the fleet captains:
"Activate the energy shields at maximum power and begin the retreat!"
At his command, the twenty-three ships powered their shields and started to pull back. Horlaw, watching from the other side, was utterly confused. He was just here to conduct a trade on behalf of his lord. Why was this happening?
Consumed by the fear of impending death, Horlaw frantically tried to call Feng Mo, but Feng Mo ignored the incoming calls. Whatever Horlaw had to say, whether surrender or plea, Feng Mo had no interest in hearing it.
"Lady Chu, Commander, main and auxiliary cannons are fully charged, and auto-targeting has locked onto the enemy fleet. Awaiting orders!" reported the adjutants to both women.
"Fire!" they shouted simultaneously, exchanging a glance before breaking into laughter.
At that moment, over a thousand beams of light rained down on the Demon fleet's thirty-two T4 starships, leaving no survivors in the aftermath of the onslaught.
