Chapter 57: Yan Li from the Yan Family

Immediately, Zeng Shen led Xiao Ai out of the house and towards the RV. Early in the morning, the roads on the westernmost edge of the relatively remote Huayang Village were deserted.

Zeng Shen opened the back door of the RV and turned to Xiao Ai, "Xiao Ai, sit in the driver's seat and have No. 1 circle around Xiayang Town, then head over to Tonghai City for a tour. If I'm still asleep, continue on to the surrounding towns, just don't go to the same place repeatedly."

"Understood, Master," Xiao Ai nodded.

Though she didn't understand why Zeng Shen needed to nap in the RV, she didn't question his decisions.

Soon, the massive RV began slowly driving along every passable street in Xiayang Town.

Lying in the RV's soft sleeper, Zeng Shen turned on the air conditioning in the resting area, then concentrated and mentally instructed the system, "System, system, don't alert me to any danger while I'm asleep."

After speaking, Zeng Shen waited a moment but heard no response from the system. He then closed his eyes and drifted into sleep.

In a haze, he felt a soft hand gently covering him with a blanket.

He didn't know how much time passed, but when he awoke, feeling hungry, he slowly sat up.

Picking up his phone, he glanced at the time—it was 11:30 AM.

He noticed several messages from Li Yuqing, Liu Miao, Xiao Ti, and some promotional content from public accounts and group notifications.

Zeng Shen replied to the three women and then checked his status panel, smiling as he saw his survival points at 22,900.

"It seems I triggered first-time points in twenty locations during those four hours."

He murmured to himself, looking through the system log.

The twenty locations included two in the town, eleven in Tonghai City, and the remaining seven in two large towns near Huayang Village and three places along the road where beast nests appeared.

"Too bad there was no information on intelligent species to abduct," Zeng Shen thought with some regret, as he made his way to the passenger seat.

Arriving at the passenger seat, he saw Xiao Ai had just finished a call.

"Master, you're awake. Are you hungry?" Xiao Ai asked, putting down her phone.

Zeng Shen nodded, sitting in the passenger seat. "Who called you? The voice seemed familiar."

"It was Director An from the Jinhai Investment Promotion Bureau. He was inquiring about the investment plan for the new district. I told him I'm in Tonghai, participating in your family's local customs and considering setting up the largest prefabricated food factory in Guangdong here, so I can't return to Jinhai yet."

"Seems like Director An is a dedicated leader committed to public welfare," Zeng Shen remarked.

"Indeed," Xiao Ai replied, shifting the topic, "Does the Master want to eat at home or elsewhere?"

"There's a town up ahead with delicious oyster cakes. Let's eat there, and then keep touring the surrounding towns before heading home," Zeng Shen suggested.

"Okay, Master."

As the sunset approached, Zeng Shen concluded his day of collecting first-time points and returned home with Xiao Ai as night fell.

His parents had not returned yet.

Sitting in the living room, Zeng Shen took out a stamina potion and an energy potion, and asked Xiao Ai, "I want to give these blue and red potions to them. How should I do it?"

"Master, didn't we buy blue goji berries? I can make two cups with those and mix in the stamina potion for them to drink when they return."

"That sounds discreet. How about the energy potion?"

"Master, I can mix it with red goji berries for them in the morning," Xiao Ai suggested.

"Great idea, I'll leave it to you," Zeng Shen laughed, handing the potions to Xiao Ai.

He then sent a voice message to his parents, asking when they would be back.

"Soon, we're on our way. We got delayed buying some food," his mother replied.

Shortly after, his parents returned, looking exhausted.

Seeing them, Xiao Ai quickly made two cups of blue goji berry drink, mixing in the stamina potion, and served them.

After drinking, Zeng Shen's parents felt rejuvenated and praised the blue goji berries.

Not long after, Xiao Ai and his mother went to the kitchen to prepare the meal.

After dinner, Zeng Shen and Xiao Ai listened to his mother explain the arrangements at the family shrine for the next day, before heading to their rooms on the second floor, planning to report to the shrine early the following day.

The next day, under a bright sun, the old district market street at the east end of Huayang Village was bustling. This wide street could accommodate ten cars side by side.

Ancient ancestral temples lined both sides of the street.

This area was the birthplace of many family clans in Huayang Village.

However, these clans did not hold their ancestral ceremonies on the same day to avoid conflicts.

The Yan and Zeng families' ceremonies, both held on the same day, originated from their ancestors choosing the same auspicious day and neither backing down.

With both ancestral halls located on the same street—one at Market Street No. 5 and the other at No. 6—they gradually began to compete with each other over the generations.

Whether it was about the grandeur of the ceremonies or the achievements and influence of the descendants, the competition was fierce.

This rivalry drew many spectators every year, with some even live-streaming the events.

As it happened, a conspicuous young man was live-streaming, focusing his phone on a BMW slowly pulling up to the entrance of the Yan family shrine.

Among the onlookers, someone familiar with the car provided commentary.

"That car is a BMW VSS, worth a million. It's owned by Yan Li, the eldest son of the Yan family's current head. I heard he's made a lot of money in recent years by running a prefabricated food processing business in Dongguan."

"Oh, I see."

"Yan Li is truly a successful young man."

"Yes, much more accomplished than the Zeng family descendants next door."

Hearing the chatter about their lesser achievements compared to the Yan family, the Zeng family descendants wore sullen expressions.

Meanwhile, Yan Li, the young man in the BMW, smiled slightly upon hearing praise of his accomplishments as he parked his car in the prominent spot in front of the family shrine.

As he stepped out and headed toward the Yan family shrine, a loud car horn sounded behind him.
