Both of them climbed to the second floor.
When they reached their destination, Index pushed the glass door open, revealing a small balcony that was connected to the void. This place was something she designed before when she was still figuring out how to make her own Magic Body.
"It's been a while," she said with a wistful smile.
Asher frowned. "Why haven't you come here?"
She shrugged. "Once I got my magic body, it felt pointless. And the void... it's too lonely to make this a good place to relax."
"That's in the past," Asher said, gently squeezing her hand. "You have me now."
Her heart fluttered at the sincerity in his words, and a shy smile tugged at her lips. She squeezed his hand back, feeling blessed that she had him.
