I WOULD BURN THE WORLD DOWN LOOKING FOR YOU

RAIN

"Tell me about your childhood."

It's late afternoon and I am lying on Ron's belly, looking at the clouds under the massive oak tree.

"What do you want to know?" Ron asks and I sigh, closing my eyes.

"How you grew up, your childhood. I would love to know."

"Cold and lonely," his voice makes me sit up and lie on my belly, now side by side.

"How can it be? Your pack is close-knight and like a family," my brows shoot up.

"That didn't apply to my immediate family. My father is cutthroat and stern. I didn't grow up like other children in the pack."

"What does that mean?"

"I was to be the alpha and heir of the family. I got sent to school when I turned four, an all-boys boarding school for alphas and betas. It was sort of a training camp, with military drills and leadership classes. It was very clinical and thorough."
