When I decided to fend for myself,

I became selfish.

When I tried to defend myself,

I became unacceptable.

When I tried to fight back,

I became unworthy.

When I chose to stay silent,

I became a coward.

When I tried to show my confidence,

I already lost the race.

When I tried to hold things together,

I already lost the war.

When I chose to express my thoughts,

I became laughter.

And when I tried to find myself,

I was already dead.
