Investigations.

It had been a month since Loki had started his Future Telling service.

The classroom 2-21 had undergone a few changes, notably an office space was made inside it for Loki to meet with his clients during the weekends.

The office space was built in a corner with frosted glass walls covering it on two sides. A window on one of the walls was added for light and fresh air to flow in giving the room a comfortable therapist feeling.

Snape and McGonagall agreed reluctantly but he eventually wore through them by telling them he'd give the school a percentage of his cuts. They finally agreed at thirty per cent.

Well, Hermione being his assistant was also something that helped but Loki wouldn't admit that the professors trusted her more than him.

Plus, at the end of all his divinations, Loki gave his non-heartbroken customers an offer. They could either pay him with a single sickle or information about Gehrman Sparrow.

When the professors asked him why he was looking for the man, Loki blatantly blamed it on the Hidden Sage and said that the pair of eyes were looking for him.

During his meetings with clients, Loki used the Ring of Harvest to perform several divinations to figure out answers for them.

And it was because of this that the Ring of Harvest had been getting rebellious.

Even threatening to drop it to the bottom of the black lake and with the power of the sefirah castle hadn't been working anymore.

And so, Loki was in desperate need of souls to feed the Ring of Harvest.

He'd tried feeding it the souls of insects and even a few of Hagrid's roosters but the Ring of Harvest ate none of them, and Loki could feel just how impatient the ring was getting and exactly how close it was to eating him.

Worse he was worried it might let Tom's soul lose and do something drastic to kill him or worse possess him.

And so since he couldn't kill a student, Loki devised a new plan.

Looking out of the window of the classroom Loki looked at the several dementors floating about all the entrances and exits of the castle.

More accurately, he was looking at the small gem-like objects floating about in their bodies, which he could see with spirit vision.

Loki was planning to steal the souls the dementors had consumed and feed them to the Ring of Harvest.

Given that the Dementors were prison guards and were controlled to only perform the kiss on the evilest of persons, Loki didn't feel as guilty for signing their fates to the Ring of Harvest.

But there were still several problems, the first was he didn't know how to get close enough to the dementors to steal the souls from them without getting caught and the second was he didn't know how to remain unaffected by the depressing aura they carried around.

Loki attended to a few more students who had come in to ask for his divination after Penelope left before closing down the store to grab lunch with Hermione.

"Mione know of a way to become invisible from dementors?"

"Huh? Why do you wanna know that?"

"Ah, I was just wondering how Sirius Black was able to escape from the Dementors at Azkaban. Maybe we could figure out how he did so and catch him?" Loki made up an excuse.

"No way! Don't go around thinking you can capture Sirius Black. Loki we're just in our third year! And Black is a full-fledged mass murderer!"

Loki sighed mentally and just nodded while patting Hermione's head lightly, "Yeah, yeah, you don't have to worry about me getting any ideas about catching a mass murderer."

"Good." Hermione nodded and pushed away Loki's hand, which was petting her bushy hair and making it even more fluffy somehow.

'What can I say…Elane's head is the best. How much she complains that she misses my head pats!!'

'I better give her as many head pats as I can to compensate for Elane.'

After having dinner in the Great Hall, Loki slipped away to his room and picked apart the book on Occlumency that he had to try and figure out a way to remain psychologically invisible to Dementors who relied on sensing the body of heart and mind to attack a person.

But the book didn't have anything about dementors written in it.

It didn't even acknowledge their presence or any magical animal that relied on Legilimency to detect prey for that matter. The book was purely for humans to defend against human attackers.

Over the next week, Loki searched for a book that would give him some information about this in the library but he turned up with nothing of value.

Most books only said that there was no way to trick the senses of a dementor and hence they were used as guards of Azkaban.

But Loki knew there had to be a flaw somewhere, after all Sirius Black had achieved it somehow.

And so Loki reopened his investigation on Sirius Black and tried looking into what had happened to him to see if he could gain any clues about how he had escaped. His need to act as a cryptologist also pushed him in this direction.

'Erm….1978, 1979, 1980, 1981.'

'Ah yes, I need the newspapers for 1981.'

Opening the drawer that contained all the newspapers for the year 1981 inside it Loki felt a little light-headed.

"These many newspapers?"

"Can I narrow it down somehow?"

Loki thought about it for a little bit and then figured he had to get his hands on the paper around the date, 31st October 1981, since that was the day Voldemort was defeated and was a celebrated day in the wizarding world.

It was probably also why Voldemort always made a comeback on Halloween each time to wipe his tarnished reputation. Loki's potion had digested when he learned this fact, and so he took it as truth.

Picking a stack of newspapers a week before and after the particular date, Loki arrived at a remote table in the library and began to search for any mentions of Sirius Black, who from his conversation with Kreacher had apparently betrayed the Potters' and caused their deaths.

Shifting through various pages filled with propaganda about how the great Harry Potter managed to defeat the undefeated Dark Lord who even the Great Albus Dumbledore could not defeat, Loki finally stumbled on a small article on the last page of a newspaper.

'Sirius Black, the real reason Voldemort Died.'

It was a short article that Loki began to read.

'Sirius Black, the infamous heir of the black family who had been disowned was reportedly part of the Death Eaters and worked as a double agent to send you-know-who information about his staunch enemies.

Sirius Black has been accused of betraying the trust of his closest friends in Hogwarts, notably James Potter, the father of Harry Potter, by informing You-Know–Who about the location of their safe house.

It was because of Sirius Black that You-Know-Who went to the Potter house on October 31st 1981 to kill them and their family.

Several eyewitnesses report that Peter Pettigrew, a friend of James Potter, stood up to Sirius Black to protect the freshly orphaned Harry Potter.

Unfortunately, Peter Pettigrew was also killed by Sirius Black along with thirteen other muggles, leaving behind nothing but a finger.

Sirius Black reportedly used dark magic to blow up a gas line that was installed in the roads and caused an explosion that killed this hero who was protecting our saviour.

Talks are ongoing in the Ministry to offer Mr. Pettigrew an Order of Merlin First Class medal posthumously.

It is unknown where our saviour Harry Potter currently resides as neither Albus Dumbledore nor the accused Death Eaters have given any statements regarding the matter.'
