After Loki ended his detention with McGonagall, he roamed the castle for a bit looking out the windows to see the beautiful night view. And as he explored the castle, he found himself in the Ravenclaw Tower in front of the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common room.
'Is this a secret room of some sort?' Loki wondered as he looked at the metallic owl whose eyes were following him as he shifted around.
Slowly he picked up the knocker that was held by the owl's beak and knocked on the door using it.
The Owl on the door looked down on Loki and asked in a surprisingly wise tone, "I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive in the mountains. What am I?"
"An echo?" Loki answered after some thought.
The Owl suddenly grew inanimate and the door to the room behind it opened.
"Huh? Is this the Ravenclaw Common room?" Loki said wondering as he stepped around the room, noticing the blue and silver decorations with the picture of several previous Ravenclaw students above the fireplace and a small library with a beautiful collection of books on another side.
Luckily there was no one inside or Loki felt like he would've been chased out with a broomstick.
'But this isn't this too easy? Having a riddle as the password? Can't just about anyone enter then?' Loki wondered but quickly walked by himself towards the dungeons.
And on his way back he found himself hearing faint whispers that were floating about the corridors.
'Are these the ravings of a mad outer god?' Loki wondered as he strained his ears to listen to every bit of the whispers.
"...this spot…"
"No…this spot…Snape…here."
'Snape? Did Professor Snape get stuck doing dealings with an Outer God?'
Walking towards the whispers Loki finally noticed its source which was clearly not an outer god whispering sweet secret knowledge to him but two redheads, it was the Weasley twins.
"What are you doing here?" Loki boldly asked the Gryffindors.
Both the brothers turned to look at Loki, trying their best to hide something that was in their hands by using the darkness to their advantage.
Too bad for them, Loki had night vision.
"I can see you're hiding something, but what are you doing? Don't worry, I've been called a lot of things but a snitch ain't one." Loki said with a smirk as he walked closer to the twins.
"Gred did you hear that? We have a curious ickle firsty on our hands."
"A Slytherin on top of that, Forge"
"What do you say? Do we trust him, brother?"
"He said he's not a snitch, my dearest brother."
""He did say that.""
The twins looked at each other and sharing a knowing glance and spoke to Loki.
"You're not supposed to be out here during curfew, did you get lost on your way to your bed?"
"I was in detention and I could say the same about you two. What are you doing here after curfew?"
"We were-"
"-preparing a prank."
"A prank? Outside Snape's office? For Professor Snape seriously?"
"Why? Are you thinking of snitching on us now?"
"No, I have double potions tomorrow and I don't want his mood ruined when I have classes with him, why don't I do you one better instead?" Loki explained with a shake of his head.
"Better? Did he just say he has a better plan than us Gred?"
"Let's hear him out Forge."
"Why don't you set up the prank in the Slytherin common room so that the Slytherin students fall victim to your prank?"
The twin's eyes shined even in the darkness but then they said, "We would love to do that, though we don't know the Slytherin password for the week."
"Ha! Don't worry about that. I can tell you the password to all the houses, I know them all."
"Oh? What is the Gryffindor password then?"
"Caput Draconis." Loki said proudly.
"Oh? And how did you learn about it?"
"Someone from your house was carrying it written on a piece of paper." Loki easily gave away his secret source.
The twins turned towards each other and then at Loki and said, "How do we know this is not a trap?"
"Easy, I would love to see the Slytherin house get pranked, just as much as you do." Loki said with pride in his voice. "Don't you remember how they treated me at the start of the year banquet?" Loki said walking closer to the twins so they could see his face.
"We remember don't we Gred?"
"Yes we do Forge. It was something about inbred nobles, wasn't it?"
"It was."
"Alright, then, let's get started." Loki said with a smile.
Loki proceeded to explain to the twins how he would enter the dorm first and take away Dominic who was waiting for him on the inside after which they could come in after a few minutes and the dorm would be empty.
But soon one of the twins had a new idea, "What if we did it in all the dorms simultaneously? Wouldn't the Marauder's be proud of us then Gred?"
"They would Forge!"
"Marauders? What do you mean by that?" Loki asked, his ears growing to learn what his potion name was being used for.
"The Marauders are the previous generation of pranksters-"
"-the best ever to grace the hall of Hogwarts-"
"-their secret names were Padfoot, Prongs, Moony and Wormtail-"
"-and we the starlight twins are carrying their legacy."
"Huh. They were pranksters?"
'Who were these marauders? Did they drink the marauder potion too? And why doesn't the black family have any records of these pranksters if they really were of an unknown pathway?'
'In fact how did they get the marauder potion in the first place?'
'And does this mean that I will be able to digest my potions if I do pranks too?'
'I mean part of playing a marauder is that you 'raid' people's homes. So leaving a gift behind for them to discover once you've raided their homes is considered okay?'
'Well, I'll know if it helps if my potion digests further tomorrow.'
""Yes!"" Fred and George replied to Loki's question.
"I understand. So you want the passwords to all the houses instead of just the Slytherin one?"
"Yes, we would love it." The twins exclaimed in a low voice making sure not to wake Snape up from his slumber inside his office.
"Alright, the Slytherin password is Pureblood, the Ravenclaw password is 'Echo' but I don't know if the riddle will change so you would be on your own for that-
"-the Hufflepuff common room doesn't have a password but you just have to tap the bottommost wine barrel in the rhythm of one-two-one-one-one. And you already know the Gryffindor password, it's Caput Draconis." Loki said with a reassuring smile.
"So do you guys remember all that?"
""We remember."" The twins said in excitement.
"Have a nice night then." Loki said and walked away towards the Slytherin common room where he entered the room, greeted Dominic and took him away to sleep for the night.
The next morning, Loki woke up with a smile on his face.
"Good morning Sunny. You didn't sleep again?"
*Squeak* *Squeak* *Squeak*
Sunny was excited and squeaked as he ran around Loki's bed.
"Oh? You look excited? Why?"
*Squeak* *Squeak* *Squeak*
The Niffler spoke by making hand signs and pointed to its own stomach.
"Oh!? You did it!? You digested your potion!?" Loki asked with unhidden excitement and the Niffler nodded with a smug smile.
"I didn't expect you'd finish digesting the potion before me! Good for you, now I just need to make you a second potion and you'll advance to a Sequence 8 Midnight poet. Haha, I'd love to see you acting for that."
*squeak* *squeak*
"I know, I know! I am planning to digest my potion too, I figured out a way to digest my potion in the castle last night!" Closing his eyes Loki measured the amount of digestion he got from helping the Weasley twins in the prank and smiled as he said, "It's already at Fifty-five per cent already, so I should be done sooner than later!"
Getting ready Loki peeped out of his room and looked around for Dominic, 'Why is he late? Did something happen to him?'
Loki only peaked out of his room since he was worried that something might happen to him if Dominic wasn't there to protect him, but as he looked around, he found Dominic standing in front of a group of Slythering students and calming them down.
"No! He is not responsible for this!" Dominic shouted.
"But he is the last person who enters the common room! If it wasn't him then who was it!?" A student asked.
"I don't know for now! But I know it wasn't him! I saw him go to his room and sleep! So don't blame him!" Dominic tried to reason again.
Loki shut his door and blocked it using his trunk.
'Ho! It seems like I've been caught in a misunderstanding.' Loki thought with a smile. 'I wonder what the twins did that caused the students to become so enraged.'
'But how do I go out now? Do I just wait for Dominic? Poor guy has to bear the brunt of the crowd for something I technically participated in-
'-But isn't he the Head boy! So no problem, it is his duty to protect students from an unjust mob going around with pitchforks waiting to lynch someone!'
'Good luck Dominic, I will pray for you so that your efforts bear fruit!'
I have a question for a future chapter, I need to make the gods do something together what could be an appropriate cost that the MC has to fulfil so that they do it? Preferably something the wizarding world has to continuously do so the MC isn't the one paying the price.
