You Don't Understand

The corridors of the palace echoed with the murmurs of soldiers and servants, all buzzing with the recent news of Cedric's capture. Izan, however, paid no mind to the sidelong glances and stifled snickers from his men as he moved swiftly down the stone halls, exhaustion tugging at him after days of relentless pursuit. He left the formalities of Cedric's imprisonment to his men. He had only one destination in mind, Elian's chambers.

Dillion and Martin shared an amused look as they watched their prince's hurried steps.

"Look at him," Dillion said, his voice carrying a chuckle, "he hasn't even rested, and he's rushing off to his lover."

Martin grinned, nudging Dillion. "A man in love can't be stopped."

Behind them, Jaxon gave Cedric a rough shove, practically dragging him towards the dungeon. "Looks like you're not as important as you thought," Jaxon sneered as he tugged Cedric's shackles, eliciting a hiss of pain from the captured lord.
