Chapter 5- Coward!

Cronus took the opportunity to chime in, "Yes, she thought she could bribe me with a bowl of noodles to help her escape, thinking I was just a town doctor! But the taste was so mediocre that I didn't agree!"

"You're despicable!" Sophia looked up at him with accusation, but only received his nonchalant smile in response.

In the next moment, Capone grabbed her by the hair and yanked her up, spinning her around and forcefully pressing her face down onto the nearby divan.

"I warn you, don't try any tricks in front of me; you're not capable of playing such games! Cronus and Mandy are all brothers who'd never betray me. You're far too naive to think you can use or incite them!"

His anger was intense, and Sophia's delicate face was distorted by the pressure. The divan's surface was covered in hard leather, rubbing against her whip scars and causing sharp, unbearable pain. Sophia thought that if this continued, she might end up disfigured. She would become an ugly woman, and no one would want her or love her in her current state.

She couldn't make out much of what he was saying, wishing instead that he would just kill her.

Contrary to her usual struggles, Sophia didn't resist or even make a sound, which made Capone release his grip, grabbing her collar to pull her up.

"Didn't you hear what I said? You must follow my orders. When I give a command, you respond with 'Yes, sir'!"

Her tears still streaked down her face, her hair in disarray, looking like a tattered puppet. She glared at Capone for a while, then suddenly broke down in tears.

This was the first time she had cried so heart-wrenchingly since being kidnapped, catching Capone off guard.

"What are you crying about?" He was inexplicably annoyed.

"Oh, don't be like that. Her wounds haven't been treated yet, and she must be in pain and worried about scarring!" Cronus took Capone by the arm, shoving the medicine tray into his hands, "You didn't want me to treat her, probably fearing I'd take advantage and see her naked. Since that's the case, you'll have to do it yourself! Her wounds are infected, and she's running a fever!"

Cronus left after speaking, leaving only the two of them in the study.

Sophia cried deeply, her sorrow overwhelming her, and she barely noticed what was happening around her or what was being said.

She didn't want to die, but being so cruelly abused made her feel as if she might give in to self-destructive thoughts.

Capone reached out and pulled away the hand Sophia was using to cover half of her face. When she tried to avoid him, he frowned and directly tore open her top, pinning her down.

"Let me go! Let me go, it hurts... Don't do that again, it hurts! Mmm…"

"If you know it hurts, then stop moving around! First, take this pill!"

Sophia looked at the pill in front of her. "What kind of pill is this?"

"It's an emergency contraceptive pill. It's effective within 72 hours!"

"I won't take it!" She had heard that such pills were harmful to a woman's body.

Capone narrowed his eyes, "Do you want to bear my child?"

The mere thought of that possibility made her stomach churn with nausea and dread.

She had no choice but to take the pill.

"Good. Now spread your legs. I need to apply the medicine!"

"No! Beast, let me go! Why should I listen to you?" Thinking of his assault the previous night, she tried to shrink away, but he grabbed her ankles and dragged her back.

"Apply the medicine or we'll go through it again, you choose! Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you—I don't like being rejected. Those who reject me must pay the price!"

Sophia couldn't push him away and had to expose her most vulnerable part to him, feeling utterly humiliated.

Her intimate area was red and swollen, like a small peach. Capone, dealing with a woman for the first time in this way, seemed surprised by how badly she was injured. He carefully applied the cooling ointment, working up a sweat himself. After treating her, he flipped her over, removed her top, and tended to the whip marks on her back, and then to the wounds on her face.

The scars were severe, and he felt that perhaps he had acted a bit impulsively that day.

His rough fingertips traced over her delicate skin as he rubbed the medication in. Her cries gradually ceased, and her sobs faded away. Leaning over, he found she had fallen asleep.

He bit her lip hard, but she only whimpered without waking. Her body's fever had not subsided, and despite his many grievances, he could only wait for her to wake up to address them.

After that day, Capone no longer made things difficult for Sophia. The only exception was when she woke up to find a whole box of long-term contraceptives on her bedside table, its intention clear.

The humiliation surged up all at once, and she swept the box to the floor with a swipe of her hand. Capone happened to walk in just then, saw the box, and, unfazed, picked it up and placed it back on the table. He sat by the bed, preparing to pin her down again.

"What's the matter? Not willing to take it? Seems like you really want to bear my child. Too bad, if you give birth, I won't want it! If you refuse to take it, you'll have to rely on emergency contraceptives every time. After all, it's not my body that's getting hurt. Over time, you might end up unable to have children at all. Not a bad outcome, really!"

Sophia trembled with anger. How could he utter such cruel and hurtful words so casually!

But hearing this, she was truly scared. She knew that emergency contraceptives were indeed a last resort and shouldn't be used frequently. The long-term contraceptives were safer, and seeing the label that it was a natural imported product, it was also a form of protection for herself.

Given the situation, she could only protect herself as much as possible, both physically and emotionally.

Capone was not the type to suppress his desires, and Sophia was genuinely afraid that he would continue to use her as a tool for his gratification until he had tormented her to death. She was so frightened that she couldn't sleep soundly at night, often waking up crying from nightmares of blood-soaked innocence. Perhaps due to his own injuries, he had not assaulted her in the following days.

Lucy spent most of her time in the house, taking care of her meals and cleaning. Occasionally, when she talked to Sophia, she learned that after Capone's men had abducted her, they had all gathered here. This was a row house, and they lived in the adjacent building. Lucy went over daily to prepare separate meals for them.

In the past few days, Capone's men had gone their separate ways, leaving only Capone, Mandy, and Joey at the house, with Cronus visiting occasionally from town. Even Capone had business to attend to and wasn't always around, which was one of the reasons he hadn't been constantly tormenting her.

Sophia was unsure whether to feel relieved or anxious. The calm before the storm left her confused and disoriented, and she still hadn't figured out the purpose of her abduction.

Fortunately, her injuries were healing, the fever had subsided, and she could now ask Lucy for help with applying medicine. She no longer cared about the embarrassment; it was certainly better than having Capone handle it himself.

Lucy was very kind, asking no questions and taking good care of her. Though she didn't help Sophia escape, she didn't seem afraid of Capone and spoke in a manner that was almost like a strict but caring elder.

When she saw the bruises on Sophia, she scolded, "That little white wolf has no idea how to cherish a woman! He's just as ill-tempered as his father. No wonder they don't get along!"

Sophia was momentarily stunned, realizing that Lucy was referring to Capone, and she couldn't help but snort.

Little white wolf? Did he really deserve such a cute nickname? The white wolf tattoo on his left chest was quite menacing!

He doesn't get along with his father?

"What about his father?" she asked cautiously.

"Dead, just in the past two years! He never had a mother either. Ah, this child has had a tough life! Miss Sophia, please be understanding; he's not a bad person!"

"Lucy, just call me Sophia!" She cursed Capone in her heart. Did his misfortune excuse his actions?

Excuses! Coward!
