Chapter 1: The Beginning of The End

Adzima pov

Hello everyone! My name is Adzima Dwi Akhsan. I'm currently in an Italian city where I'm being pursued by the locals. The locals pursued me no matter how long or how far I went, and because I kept running without knowing where I was going, I became lost and ended up in a dead-end alley.

Adzima:'Oh no'

When I looked back, I noticed that the locals were approaching, but then someone grabbed my hand from the right side and led me to a quiet room on the third floor.When we entered that room, the person swiftly shut the door, and I could clearly see him at the time. That person was dressed in all black garments with red accents, including a black jacket and black trousers with two pistol holsters attached, black military boots, black gloves, sunglasses, a black mouth mask, and a black cap. But, despite his attire, I have a feeling that I can trust him. Even though trust is difficult to earn in situations like this.

???:"Are you okay?"

Adzima:"Yes, and I am extremely grateful for your assistance"

???:"No problem, but what is wrong with this city? I did nothing wrong, yet the locals began attacking and pursuing me for no apparent reason"

I stared at him a little confused.

Adzima:"Isn't it obvious? All of them must have been possessed"

???:"Possessed? By whom?"

Adzima:"You don't know?"

He shook his head, which makes me even more confused.

Adzima:'Okay... That is strange'

Unfortunately, not long after that, I heard footsteps outside the door.

???:"This is unfortunate, it seems that they have found us"

The door in front of us suddenly burst open, and lots of locals rushed in and surrounded us. The man in black then reached for his pistols, but I stopped him.

???:"Please forgive me"

Adzima:"Wait, please don't kill them"

Adzima:"They're all just being controlled"

He sighed and then began fighting them without any weapons. I also assist him in his fight against the locals. But, as we were fighting, the air around us suddenly fell and became very cold, and I felt terrifying presences approaching.

Adzima:"We need to get out of here immediately, they are coming"

???:"Who?"

Right after he asked that, a group of demons that brought calamity, demons that had ruined this world, glided silently through the damaged door and over the locals' heads towards us.

???:"What kind of creatures are those?"

Adzima:"They are the Soul Devourers"

Adzima:"And if we don't leave right now, we will end up like those locals"

???:"But, we are surrounded"

I looked around and noticed an open window. I then led the man in black to the window.

Adzima:"We can jump through it"

I then jumped without paying attention to the person's warning.

???:"Wait"

I then recall that we were on the third floor, and I fell right into the hard concrete....Or so I thought, for I felt someone holding my hand as I closed my eyes and prepared to hit the concrete ground. I opened my eyes and looked up to see that the person had helped me yet again. His left hand grips my hands so I don't fall, while his right hand grabs onto the window's edge to keep us from falling. He then scolded me while checking on my well-being.

???:"Are you out of your mind?"

Adzima:"I am sorry, I forgot we were on the third floor"

The Soul Devourers then flew towards us from the window above.

???:"Tch!"

After ensuring that we had a secure landing, the person looked at me and let go of the window's edge.I then noticed that the person's gloves were slightly torn and that his right palm was bleeding a little.

I then ask him out of concern, but he simply dismisses my question.

Adzima:"Are you okay?"

???:"Not now, follow me"

I ran after him, towards a red sports car parked on a side road. He then motioned me to get into the car.

???:"Get in"

We then got into the car, and he drove us away, but the Soul Devourers and locals were still pursuing us.

Adzima:"We're still being pursued"

???:"Don't worry"

He then accelerated and manoeuvred the car till we lost the pursuit and I found ourselves inside a building after entering a tunnel.

Adzima:"What? A teleportation car?"

???:"Something like that"

We immediately got off the car, and I was surprised by how large this building is.

Adzima:"Um... Where are we?"

???:"My mansion... Or rather the garage of my mansion"

I then noticed that the mask he was wearing had vanished, and I could see his mouth and a little of his pale skin.I followed him as he walked up. We then arrived at a spacious room similar to the garage below. In the middle of the room, an earth-shaped hologram was displayed on a table surrounded by chairs. There were also long red sofas on the right and left sides near the wall, a computer with six large monitors to the left of where we were standing, and multiple devices on the computer table. To my right was a fairly long corridor, and to the left of the computer was another room that appeared to be a kitchen and dining area. In front of us were two huge windows and two large twin doors. That seems to be the exit.

Adzima:"Whoa"

Adzima:"Ah, we have never introduced ourselves earlier"

I then extended my hand to him, and he shook it.

Adzima:"My name is Adzima"

???:"I am Falco"

When we shook hands, I remembered that his hand had been injured and that some blood had gotten on my hand.

Falco:"Sorry about that"

Adzima:"No, I should be the one who apologises, you got injured because of me"

We then sat on the sofa, and I got a first-aid kit from my bag to treat the wound.

Falco:"You don't have to do that, you know"

Adzima:"Please accept this as my gratitude"He then asks me a few questions as I treat his wound.

Falco:"What were you doing in Italy?"

Adzima:"Looking for other survivors and a safe haven"

Adzima:"I can't really stay in a place for long until the demons or possessed locals track me down"

Adzima:"What about you?"

Falco:"Looking for clues... Can you tell me more about the demons and what really happened?"

Adzima:"You really don't know anything about it?"

He just shook his head.

Adzima:"A demon that had been sealed for ages suddenly awakened a few months ago. The demon's name is Zalgo, and he immediately awakened his soldiers, the Soul Devourers"

Adzima:"Zalgo sent the Soul Devourers to possess everyone and control them to cause disaster. Only a few people haven't been controlled, which is why you can't trust anyone"

Falco:"What about me?"

Adzima:"I'm not sure, but I have felt that I can trust you since the first time I saw you"

Falco:"Thank you, I will put my trust in you as well"

Falco:"You can stay here as long as you like, and I assure you that this place is safe"

Falco:"But this is dangerous, we must stop Zalgo before they possess everyone and take over the world"

Adzima:"How? We can't stop them with just the two of us"

Falco:"Then we must assemble a group of people with extraordinary abilities to help us"

Falco:"Are you in, Nature Bending Princess?"

Adzima:"How do you know about my power?"

He simply walked to his computer and typed something, after that, the earth-shaped hologram displayed videos from across the world.

Adzima:"Okay, I'm in, who will we recruit first?"

Falco:"That would be...."
