The Next Goal

The play restarted with Daisuke Fc in possession of the ball, and before they could actually do anything with it, the referee blew the final whistle. 

"Daisuke Fc continues their unbeaten run while Momyung has finally gotten their first point of the season." Tanaka said. 

"It was a splendid game, Daisuke's Baek Dong with two goals, and Momyung's Lee Sung Min also dropping two goals. What do you think about their performances today?"

"The stellar performance came from Lee Sung Min, the man of today's match. It seemed as if he became a completely different player overnight." 

The team is now in the dressing room conversing with one another as Kim Na-na walked in, everybody in the room turned their attention to her, waiting for her to utter some words. 

She took a deep breath, and then began to speak;

"You all did very well today, I enjoyed all of your performances greatly and I hope you wikl do better without me." She smilled deeply with her eyes. 

"Whithout you? What are you talking about?" Tae Hyun asked. 

"I promised you all that I will leave the team if I failed to win today, and I failed." 

"Oh..." 

"You didn't actually fail because you didn't lose," The captain stood up. 

"You got us our first point of the season against the second best team in the league." Horata added. 

"And we only conceded through set piece." Ahn Sang, the second defensive midfielder added. 

"Since you didn't win, and you also didn't lose. Let the team decide through voting, to see if they still want you here. Is that okay by you coach?" 

"Yes..." She replied. 

The captain turned to his teamates, "if you want the coach to stay, then please put your hand up. And if you want her to leave, keep your hand down."

The captain raised his hand up first, followed by Sung Min, then Tae Hyun and in a few seconds, the hands of everyone in the room was up in the air. 

The captain then turned to Kim Na-na, "see? No one wants you to leave." 

She could not contain the joy in her heart, her smile was from ear to ear with tear drops almost leaving their ducts.

"What is our next goal, coach." 

"Right now we are at the very last position with only one point, our next goal is to get to the very top of the league table by winning one game at a time." 

"And we will do it!" The captain added as applauds echoed through the walls of the room.

"See you all at the training ground on Tuesday." Kim Na-na said in conclusion. 

"Actually, " Tae Hyun stood up, "today is the Asian's Best player award, and I want us to celebrate getting our first league point by watching it at my place!" 

"Will there be beer?" 

"Yep." 

"Then no need asking bro." 

"Everyone is invited!!"

"That was an awesome match!" Was the first thing Cho Yung said the moment Sung Min stepped foot in the house.

"You saw the game?" Sung Min asked in surprise because Cho Yung hates football. 

"Yes!!! When did you become so good wtf!!!! I was so proud!!!" 

"Glad you enjoyed it , hope you watch more games." 

"Definitely, I will get my boyfriend to support Momyung Fc, we'll become your biggest fans." Cho Yung then takes a good look Sung Min for the first time since she returned, the realisation of how fit his brother has become dropped her jaw an dilated her pupils. 

"Are you sure you are my brother sir?" 

She squinted her eyes to look at Sung Min suspiciously. 

"Seems like you are jobless today." He fell into the couch to relax. 

"I will be going back to the university tomorrow." She said. 

"School already resumed?" 

"Nah, I just miss my boyfriend." She replied with a smirk. And Sung Min gave her the side eye, "who even raised you?" 

She giggled and then took out a fancy envelope and handed it to Sung Min. 

"What's this?" He asked as he took the envelope from her. 

"It's an invitation to Ha-ri's wedding." 

"Oh..." He opened the invitation to look at the content. 

"The wedding is in two weeks." 

"Isn't that a bit short noticed for an invitation?...." Sung Min said as he glanced through the card. 

"I got the invitation two weeks ago, at first I didn't want to give it to you."

"Why?" 

"Because that prick Dayeun only invited you to spite you." 

"He brought the invitation himself?" 

"Yes, while acting all high and mighty like he achieved something great." 

Sung Min folded the invitation and placed it back into the envelope. 

"You are not going to the wedding right?" 

"Probably not, I haven't decided yet." 

"Don't go, you'll only get hurt."

"Probably..." lost in thought, Sung Min slowly drifted into slumber. The constant ringing of his phone hours later woke him up, and when he opened his eyes, it was already dark. He then picked up the call and placed the phone on his ear. 

"Where the heck are you?!!" Tae Hyun's voice yelled.

"At home... Sung Min replied while yelling. 

"Don't tell me you forgot about our little party today." 

"Oh shii!" Sung Min sprang up to his feet, "I'll be right there."

Sung Min speed ran bathing, wearing his clothes and getting to Tae Hyuns house. In less than thirty minutes he was already knocking on the man's door. 

Tae Hyun opened the door, "welcome buddy." He said while ruffling Sung Min's hair. 

As Tae Hyun's wife saw Sung Min, she walked to him and gave him a deep hug. "Don't ever do something like that ever again.." 

"I won't..." 

She saperated from the hug to get a closer look at his face, "I hope you have fully recovered." 

"Yeah... I have" 

"Take good care of yourself Sung Min," she gave him one more hug before Sung Min joined the others in the sitting room. 

He grabbed a bottle of beer and sat down beside Min Ho.

"You've almost missed the whole thing." Min Ho said as he sat down. 

"What are they awarding next?" Sung Min asked. 

"Asia's best player."

The presenter in the television, a young and stunning woman began to speak, "Next we will announce the Asia's beat player, and the nominees are."

1 - Hinata Shoyo with 24 goals and 20 assist, winning 2 trophies last season. The Japanese league and Cup.

2 - Choi Kang Chi with 36 goal s and 14 assists winning two trophies last season. The Korean League and the Asia's champions league trophy. 

3 - Han So Lee with 11 goals and 48 assists, winning two trophies last season. The Korean league and the Asia's champions league trophy. 

The presenter opened the envelope in her hand, took out a card, looked at it, smiled then said, "Asia's best player, is... Choi Kang Chi!"

The camera panned to everyone in the audience as the applauded while Choi Kang Chi stood up with a smile and started walking to the stage. 

"That's my little brother!!" Choi Kang Ta yelled out proudly. 

Min Ho then turned to Sung Min and said, almost in a whisper, "with how you played today, I think you will stand up there someday."
