A NEW SECRETARY

ALEXANDER'S STANDPOINT

I gritted my teeth in anger, watching the viral video about me and that crazy waitress for the umpteenth time.

"OMG! I can't believe this!" Jeremy roared in laughter rolling on his belly.

I don't know which was more infuriating. The fact that this girl wasn't scared of me like everyone else or the fact that Jeremy wouldn't stop making fun of me.

"You mean she actually told you to get another suit and also called you an asshole?" Jeremy asked and I scoffed, rolling my eyes.

"It's in the video, why bother asking me again."

"Does she know who you really are? Or is there a possibility that she has sight impairment didn't see you clearly enough?" Jeremy asked.

I snorted, "Who in Washington DC doesn't know Alexander Knight, the richest CEO and most desirable bachelor."

"I think they should change that desirable because technically not everyone finds you that desirable," Jeremy taunted and I glared at him.

"What? Don't give me that look, I'm not the cause of your problems."

"But you're definitely the cause of my headache right now," I retorted.

There was a knock on the door after which Collins walked in with a file in his hand. I immediately sat up as he approached me.

"Here are the information you asked me to grab on Emily Davis," Collins said, handing me the files. Jeremy immediately came closer, curiosity glimmering in his eyes.

"You may leave," I dismissed him without sparing him a glance and he left immediately.

"You're running a background check on her?" Jeremy asked, looking into the file with me.

"I already did, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything." I flipped through the files, frowning as I did. There was nothing interesting or big to her name but I still didn't understand what gave her the boldness to stand up to me.

"Uh-oh, whenever you run a background check on someone like this it's either to work with them or to ruin them. I'm thinking it's the latter?" Jeremy smirked.

"It's not like she has anything big to her name that I could work with." I closed the file, pushing it away.

"One thing I still don't get is that why I didn't have a skin reaction when she touched me," I muttered under my breath but Jeremy heard me.

"Wait! What? She touched you?" He yelled, staring at me bug-eyed, not believing it.

I couldn't believe it myself, I flared up when she landed on me not just because she ruined my dress but because she made direct contact with me. Normally it never ended well when someone touched me but nothing happened when she did.

"Are you really sure she touched you and nothing happened?" Jeremy asked, still not believing me.

"I'm not stupid Jeremy, I know when someone touched me. It's something I dread the most after all," I replied, frowning.

"Woah! I can't believe this," he grinned, looking extremely happy for reasons I couldn't comprehend.

"What? Why do you look and sound happy?"

"Do you know what this means?" he faced me, acting dramatic.

"What?" I squinted my eyebrows at him, not following up.

"It's just like it happens in the movies man! You've met your fucking Cinderella!" He squeaked happily like a highschool girl that just met her crush.

"The story of Cinderella has to do with a missing shoe, I don't see how any of that relates to this situation."

"Every Cinderella story is different, Stupid," he rolled his eyes, sitting on my table, in front of me.

"Unlike the Cinderella in the movies that was found with a missing shoe, you've found your own Cinderella in a restaurant in a rather embarrassing manner," he said, frowning.

"Not that it matters anyways, the main thing is that as of now, she is the only person in this world that can touch you and you won't have a sudden skin reaction," he said, grinning.

"Whatever it is you're cooking in your head, I'm not interested," I waved him off, facing my computer.

"But..."

"First of all Jeremy," I said, cutting him short.

"I already got her fired from her job as a waiter, bought the shop she is working part-time in and got her fired as well. I also found out that her family runs a taekwondo training center for kids. So I bought the land and marked it for reconstruction which means their taekwondo center would be demolished." Jeremy's jaw slacked open and he gaped at me, horrified.

"I also sent a offer to her for her to be my personal slave and save her father's business or watch her father's source of livelihood being crushed before his very eyes and her life ruined further by me." I completed, smirking.

Messing with her and pushing her to a cliff end was so fun. I wanted to see what her next move would be and where her boldness truly steams from.

"So tell me Jeremy, do you still think I'm her prince charming and her my Cinderella?"

"You're a devil," Jeremy finally said something, still looking horrified and I nodded in satisfaction.

"I guessed as much."

"How could you go that far just to get revenge?"

"She looked fun to mess with and it was my way of meeting her again," I replied, smiling.

There was something about her and I wanted to know how she was able to touch me without making me react to her touch. She was the first person that has touched me in years and I couldn't let her go that easily.

"What the fuck happened to just collecting her number and trying to impress her?" He asked, gawking at me in disbelief and I frowned.

"Why would I want to impress her? It's not like she is pretty or something?"

"But she touched you?" Jeremy emphasized and I shrugged.

"Which is why I'm giving her a tiny little bit of my attention in the first place."

Jeremy pushed his hair backwards, turning away from me. "I can't believe you right now, Alex!"

I smiled, going through her profile again. It's being a while someone actually caught my attention. Too bad she was ugly and not my type but she looked like someone that wouldn't back down from a fight that easily which makes me wonder what the hell she is?

All breathing humans fear me and for her not to fear me, she was something else and I was going to find out what.

Jeremy's phone rang but he wouldn't pick it.

"Won't you pick your call? You probably have business to attend to," I asked.

"I'm too heartbroken to pick it. I'm never going to meet this Emily," he whined and I rolled my eyes.

"Trust me you will, she will here in..."

I was cut short with my door flying open and my mom storming my office with someone hiding behind her.

"Mom," I called, surprised to see her.

"Mrs. Roberts," Jeremy called, surprised to see her as well.

"What are you doing here? And who is that?" I tried taking a peek at who was behind her but whoever it was definitely didn't want to be seen.

"I heard from Collins that you fired your secretary again and you're in search of a new one," she said and I frowned.

That blabbermouth!

"She was not competent enough and she was messing around with Maxwell. I can't have someone like that working for me," I replied.

"True," she nodded, agreeing with me without argument. Jeremy and I shared a look.

Something big was coming.

"So I took it upon myself to get you a new secretary instead after discussing with your Dad."

"Mom!" I yelled, getting up from my sit.

"Introduce yourself to him!" Mom said to the lady at her back, taking a step away from her and totally ignoring me.

"Good morning sir," she bowed and then looked up, my eyes widening in horror the moment our eyes met.

"I'm Emily Davis..."
