A BLIND DATE

ALEXANDER'S STANDPOINT

"What's on my schedule Collins?" I asked, walking into the office with Collins tailing behind me.

"Good morning sir, hope you had a wonderful night?"

"Ask me another useless question and my response will be your sack letter," I replied gruffly and he went silent immediately.

"You have a meeting with the minister of finance. And the meeting is scheduled to hold..."

"Skip that, I won't be attending."

"But…." I gave him a scornful look and that shut him up immediately. Collins is the longest PA I've had without firing him. He was quite competent and knew how to do his work well but one thing I had a problem with, was the fact that he just didn't know when to shut up.

"Next on your schedule is your modelling for fresh glow's product."

"What time is the modelling shoot?" I inquired, frowning.

"This morning sir." I quirked my eyebrows at him and he gulped.

"By 12pm sir," he added, fretting and I rolled my eyes. He was being unnecessarily annoying this morning and making me talk more than necessary.

"12pm is my personal time. Ask them to either reschedule it for another time or cancel it."

Not waiting for a reply, I stomped off into my office, my guards trailing behind me. Some of the employees greeted me but I ignored them, seeing no need to answer them.

I wasn't interested in their greetting but in the product of their service. If only they knew that I was going to be cutting some of them down once I don't see improvement in their services they'd focus more on improving my company and not greeting me.

One thing I made sure to pass across to everyone getting employed here was the fact that there was no space for laziness and unproductivity. You're useless to me if you aren't adding anything to my company.

Getting to my office, my secretary was not on seat, causing me to frown.

"Collins?" I called, facing him.

"Yes sir," he replied, adjusting his glasses.

"Why isn't Ria on her seat?" He looked lost as well, having no answer to give me.

"What's the time?"

Collins glanced at his wrist watch before replying.

"It's 9am sir."

"Why then isn't she around?" I knew I was asking the wrong person because Collins and I headed to work together.

"Sir I think..."

"You know what?"

"Forget about it," I waved him off, interrupting him.

"Just prepare the sack letter of Ria Ambers, and leave it on her desk. Find me another secretary, a competent one."

"Yes sir." He opened the door for me and I stepped into my office, taking off my jacket as I settled on my seat.

"What's this?" I frowned, picking up a document from my desk, glancing through it.

"That's the deal you handed to Maxwell to deal with. That's the result of the deal he made."

Flipping through the pages of the document, my frown deepened.

"I think Mr. Maxwell was able to get the best deal with….." I sent a deathly glare his way and he immediately went silent.

I wonder why no one could do anything right. How the hell could this be called a good deal?

Clenching the document in my hand, I stomped out of the office, heading towards Maxwell's office and Collins ran after me, trying to keep up.

Getting to Maxwell's office I barged in without knocking.

"What the hell did you..." my mouth immediately went dry seeing the sight before me.

Ria Ambers was bent against the table and Maxwell was banging her from behind.

"Boss," Ria called, horrified, pushing Maxwell aside as she hurriedly rushed to arrange her dress.

"Get out!" I spat at her in disgust and she immediately rushed outside, embarrassed.

"Don't just stand there, go after her and make sure she gets her sack letter and is thrown out of this building with immediate effect," I glared at Collins and he immediately rushed out after her, leaving just Maxwell and I alone in the office.

"Brother….."

"Don't call me that," I growled.

"What the hell is this?" I threw the papers at him.

"I told you to strike a deal with them, I don't remember asking you to give them offers they do not deserve."

"I did my best," he retorted.

"Clearly, your best was not enough."

"Well, if you think so why don't you get it done yourself?" He glared at me and I smiled.

"Gladly. I just wanted to show father how useless you are when it comes to business."

He clenched his fist in anger, his eyes filled with fury.

"You know, you're an asshole!" He spat at me.

"Say whatever you like Max, but we both know who the bigger asshole is and I'm sure father will be angry with me for getting accepting this piece of trash. Wait till he finds out that I put you in charge and you made the shitty deal."

I swirled around ready to leave but then paused in my tracks.

"I know you've always liked going after my things but try not to act so shameless in the office and stay away from my future secretary whoever she may be else I'll be forced to take legal actions against you."

"It's not my fault that I'm irresistible," he smirked cockily and I scoffed, wondering what so irresistible about him that attracted the ladies to his sorry ass.

"You wish." Walking out of the office, I banged the door close behind me, returning back to my office.

"Sir, please I'm sorry," Ria begged on her knees but I paid her no attention.

"Mr. Alexander," she tried holding me but my guards blocked her from doing so.

"Collins."

"Yes sir."

"Ensure she is out of here before I step out of my office or else you'll be leaving with her. I do not want wish to repeat myself again."

Not waiting for his response and ignoring the pleas of Ria, I stepped into my office.

"That should be the 20th secretary that you're firing this month," Jeremy smirks, sitted on my chair.

"Who let you in?" I frowned not in the mood for his chattering this morning.

Jeremy Wilestone is my best friend and the world's best idiot but it didn't change the fact he is the biggest drug Lord in town.

"Is that your way of saying you're happy to see me?" He grinned.

"Get out of my seat!" I scoffed, pushing him off.

"You're no fun," he shook his head, looking disappointed and I ignored him, going through the files on my system.

"What do you want, Jeremy?" I sighed, noticing his incessant staring. Whenever he looked at me  with innocent eyes that were far from innocent, he was always after something.

"I need a little help."

"When you say little you actually mean something bigger. Mind you, I have a lot on my plate at the moment I do not have the luxury to get involved in your shits."

"You've seriously got to help me out with this one Alex, it's bigger than you think."

"What did you do this time around?"

"Well, I didn't actually do anything…." He drawled and I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"I seriously didn't do anything, trust me."

"So what's the issue?" I rolled my eyes, not believing him.

"Your mother is on my tail."

"My mother?" I furrowed my eyebrows at him, wondering what the witch had to do with this.

I sighed, relaxing back on my chair.

"What does she want this time around?"

"She wants you to go on a blind date," Jeremy revealed and I scoffed not amused.

"Tell me something I don't know."

"If you don't she is blowing up one of my warehouses and I don't know which one," he added, looking horrified.

"Well that's your business not mine. Deal with it because I'm not going for the blind date." I sat up and turned on my computer, ready to begin work for the day when my phone buzzed.

I picked it up to see that Jeremy sent me a video. My eyes went wide with shock when I saw the contents of the video.

"What the actual fuck Jeremy!"
