"Well, I-"
"What did you do to her?" Taehyung turned to glare at Jungkook, who was innocently sitting on the chair.
"I did nothing!" Jungkook snaps in irritation.
"It wasn't Jungkook. I did it myself," I turned off the faucet and dried my hands with the napkin.
"You're so clumsy. Come with me," Taehyung sighed. He wrapped his hand around my wrist before dragging me out of the room. Jungkook and I made a brief eye contact as we walked past him. Jungkook trailed his eyes after us in silence.
"You should be careful," Taehyung mumbled, taking out the first aid kit as I sat on the living room couch.
"It's fine. I can do it," I refused to let Taehyung help me with my wound.
"Stay still," Taehyung insisted, grabbing my hand again, then shot me a cold stare. I was paralyzed by his stare, so I let him fix my wound. To be honest, I'm still scared of him.
"Will you tell me about that night...?" I quietly asked him.
"What night?" He whispers without looking up.
"When they hurt Yoongi," I exhaled, making him pause for a second.
"I went there alone, good thing I called Jimin for backup. I would've died if I didn't call him," Taehyung uneasily made eye contact with me.
"It was on the seventh floor of the under-construction building. I was on the fourth floor when I heard this tormenting scream from the floors above. It was Yoongi. I thought it was too late when I got to the sixth floor because I heard... this... loud bang... a gunshot. Although I have nothing to do with him- My blood turned cold the moment I heard the gunfire. I couldn't move at all. I was scared," Taehyung glanced down at his hands.
"Yoongi didn't get shot though," I nodded when I remembered the stabs on Yoongi's body.
"No, it was a warning shot. But I didn't know. I went up there... in total darkness and there... I saw Yoongi on his knees with a pool of blood around him. This guy, he raised a dagger and stab Yoongi in the stomach. The scary thing was that Yoongi didn't even scream anymore. He dropped to the floor lifelessly. Thud. I yelled at them when they attempted to stab him again," Taehyung gulped in difficulty as he stared at my finger and attempted to bandage it.
"They did something to you didn't they?" I questioned when I noticed Taehyung's restless expression.
"I'm sorry but the reason they hurt Yoongi was a mere trap. They were aiming for me and Jungkook. They somehow knew I'd come running to them," Taehyung confessed quietly with his head hung low.
"Wait... Taehyung," I trailed off in shock.
"The moment I got there... I was surrounded. Someone pressed a gun against the back of my head. Sora, I was terrified. I fell for the trap and at that moment I thought everything was over," Taehyung clasped his hands together.
"Taehyung... I'm sorry," I whispered in shock. He was in danger... Yoongi and I could've been the reason that killed him and Jimin.
"Don't be. But Jimin came with a lot of backups. Because of him, I escaped death by a step. I only found out it was Mira's scheme during Hoseok's birthday. I was shocked. How can she? Did she expect me to return her love?" Taehyung shook his head repeatedly.
"Girls can be very dangerous when they're broken," I whispered.
"I wasn't scared of dying- Somehow, Sora. I was terrified because I thought I couldn't bring Yoongi back to you," Taehyung made eye contact with me.
"Huh...? Taehyung you should prioritize your life," I whispered while staring at him in confusion.
"He's your happiness. I hate seeing you in despair," Taehyung averted his eyes away in discomfort.
"Oh?" I blinked and pursed my lips at his words. What did he just...
"I was afraid I couldn't see you again. I don't understand it either. I'm still confused. But I don't know Sora. It's just this unspoken feeling I have," Taehyung swallowed as he tried to piece his words together. He looks scared. What's wrong with him?
"Hey, hey. It's okay. Come here," I sighed, pulling him into a tight hug to help calm him down.
"I killed someone," Taehyung shakily whispered against my ear as he dug his face into my shoulder.
"Wha-what?" I froze and held in my breath. I felt terror spreading across my body.
"We were in the middle of a fight- this guy tried to finish Yoongi off with a gun but before I even knew it... I pulled the trigger and it went right through his head. Sora, I couldn't hear anything after I pulled the trigger. I was lost," Taehyung choked quietly. He's crying. He killed someone... no wonder he's been looking dead for the past weeks. He's traumatized by the incident.
"You did what you had to do to save his life," I patted his back and blanked out at the thoughts of Taehyung murdering a person for Yoongi. I don't even know how to react to this anymore. How do I comfort him?
"I get out of control sometimes and during those times- I can't control myself. I'm afraid that I'll end up... hurting you," Taehyung sobs quietly.
"I know. But I trust you. I know you won't hurt me," I whispered with my eyes trained on the wall. This is so messed up. I can't even understand my feelings right now.
"You don't understand. This- this darkness... it makes me do scary things," Taehyung stuttered, pulling away with tears on his cheeks. It's my first time seeing him cry and it breaks my heart. It was as if he was begging me to save him from the pain he was enduring.
"Hey. You need to stay strong because you're the eldest heir of your household," I reassuringly squeezed his hands. He did whatever he could to protect Yoongi and I. Now he's the only one suffering from it. It makes me feel guilty.
"You did all you could to protect me and Yoongi and I'm thankful," I stared into the eyes of the cold and strong Taehyung, who suddenly became weak and vulnerable.
"I think I'm going crazy," Taehyung suddenly eyed my lips. I froze.
"N-no... you're not," I mumbled, pausing in panic as he intertwined his fingers with mine.
"Hah. If you say so..." Taehyung laughs in tears. He turns away and pulls his hands away from mine. Phew... I really thought- I'm glad he didn't do it.
"Does anyone know about it?" I asked him quietly.
"The alphas know about it already. I'm a murderer," Taehyung rubs away his tears.
"You were protecting yourself and Yoongi. You're not a murderer. Not to me," I bit my lips. Taehyung stared at me with a sad gaze, so I smiled and patted his hand. He
"I thought you'd see me as one," Taehyung smiled weakly.
"Aigo... never... now cheer up," I chuckled, nudging him lightly.
"How's your finger?" Taehyung asked, pointing at my bandaged finger.
"Thanks to Taehyungie it's feeling a bit better now," I spoke in a tiny voice to tease him. Taehyung chuckled softly at my words.
"I feel better now, thank you," Taehyung turns to smile at me. He seems like a strong soul... but he's actually really soft.
"Oh? You're still here?" Jungkook asks as he walks into the living room.
"We'll head to bed soon," I glanced at Taehyung, who was trying to hide his puffy eyes from Jungkook.
"Alright. I'll be sleeping in your room hyung," Jungkook shrugged, dismissively walking away.
"Wae?!" Taehyung snaps at Jungkook.
"I don't want to get murdered," Jungkook huffed.
"You should stay in my room too," Taehyung sighs quietly.
"Oh? What? No No," I shook my head uncomfortably. I can't do that. The only man I'll lay in bed with is Yoongi.
"You can have the bed. We'll sleep on the couch and floor," Taehyung got onto his feet.
"I can't do that to you guys," I chuckled and shook my head.
"I'm sure your boyfriend wants you to be safe, don't worry. We might be alphas, but we have high respect toward women," Taehyung smiles assuringly.
"Fine. I'll take the couch though," I followed him back to his room. The couch is more comfortable. They can share the bed.
"Jungkook you want to share the bed?" Taehyung asked Jungkook, who was hugging his pillow on the floor.
"No," Jungkook said shortly.
"Fine, I'll share the bed with Jimin. You can have the other couch," Taehyung shrugged, collapsing onto the bed in exhaustion.
"I don't think I can sleep," Jimin whispered quietly.
"We have school tomorrow. Get some sleep," Taehyung turned off the light but there was still a bit of light beaming from the little lamp at the far end of the room.
"Things are getting out of hand. Don't you think?" Jimin whispered in the darkroom. I pulled the blanket over my body and snuggled into the couch.
"Will you be quiet you noisy shit," Jungkook snaps at Jimin.
"Yah! You're younger than me!" Jimin called from the bed.
"So what? Just shut up!" Jungkook snaps back at him.
"Stop bickering!" Taehyung snaps in frustration. The room fell dead silent again.
"Finally..." I whispered, turning sideways to find Jungkook sleeping on the couch across from mine. Suddenly... The memories of the two of us in his room replayed in my head again. Stop it! I smacked my head to get rid of the absurd thoughts and closed my eyes. Stop thinking!
About five minutes of silence passed when I started to hear Jimin snoring from the bed. I slowly opened my eyes again to find Jungkook staring right back at me from the couch across from mine. He was sleeping sideways... facing me. He didn't look away but just stared at me. We stared at each other in the hushed darkroom from across the couch. What is he thinking...? Is he lost in his thoughts?
"Noisy noisy noisy ah~!" Taehyung whined, smacking Jimin with his pillow to stop him from snoring.
"He said he couldn't sleep but he's already asleep!" Taehyung groans quietly. Realizing what was going on, both Jungkook and I blinked at each other awkwardly. We quickly turned away in embarrassment. What the hell were we doing?!
