The mimic's mimicry was more perfect than I had imagined.
I thought it would just be a look-alike of "Liora," but instead, a beautiful elf girl stood there. Her vacant expression was striking.
She was a beautiful girl with long golden hair reaching her waist, partially tied into twin tails. She looked about fifteen or sixteen years old. She still seemed a bit young, but she appeared more mature than her apparent age. She stared at me and Liora with sleepy eyes.
The mimicked elf girl, Samurai, walked around. Although a bit awkward, it was within a range that could improve with practice.
"It seems she can walk. I'm excited to see what other two forms she can mimic."
"What should the other forms be, God?"
"One should be a creature we can ride. If her movement speed increases, it will make things easier. I wonder if she can fly if she mimics a winged creature?"
That might be too difficult. Since it's just mimicry, replicating the function of flight might be challenging. However, mimicking a creature specialized for traversing terrain, like a horse, could be useful. High agility will come in handy, I bet.
"For now, let's continue exploring the dungeon. We can increase her forms as needed at a later time."
"Yes, God."
With Samurai in tow, we resumed the dungeon attack.
We descended the stairs.
Samurai took the lead. Since she's currently under Liora's [Tame], even if she dies, Liora can revive her by consuming MP. However, with Samurai's abundant HP, it's unlikely she'll die easily.
While I was thinking about this, Samurai triggered a trap. It seemed to be a fire trap, as her body was being scorched from below. She was engulfed in flames, her HP gradually decreasing, but Samurai didn't move.
"Liora, have Samurai use earth magic to extinguish the fire. And cast Regen on her as well."
"!"
As a summoner, Liora has a mental connection with her summoned creatures. Samurai, seemingly dazed, used earth magic to extinguish the flames on her body. Since she's originally a mimic, her skin didn't seem to melt from the fire.
"…Mimics are convenient."
"Yes, but I am more convenient!"
Oh, she is getting jealous! Cuteee!!!
"Liora is adorable."
"Oh. Hehe…"
The second floor of this dungeon seemed somewhat different. It felt like an endless cave, typical of a labyrinth. There was enough air, so we didn't suffocate. While the leading mimic occasionally disarmed traps, we encountered an enemy.
A small old man wearing a tattered, stylish red hat. He was only about half of Liora's height and held an axe with both hands.
"A goblin with a hat?"
I appraised him.
Name: Unknown Gender:Male
Level:34 Race:Red Cap
Magic: Earth Magic 1
Skills:Axe Technique 35, Martial Arts 38, Critical Hit 17, Agility Enhancement 38
Stats:
Attack 170, Magic Attack 34
Durability 34, Agility 272
Luck 170
It seemed to be a melee type enemy using an axe. Its high agility means we should be wary of it closing the distance quickly. Its attacks seem high enough, so it might not pair well with Liora. But now, we have a reliable tank.
'—'
Samurai extended her two arms forward, which quickly turned into two tentacles attacking the Red Cap.
—It was an ambush.
Caught off guard by the sudden tentacles, the Red Cap froze. Before it could leverage its agility, the monster was entangled by the tentacles. They were wriggling.
Liora, gripping her scythe, trembled more than the captured Red Cap.
"So scary… God, it's scary. This thing."
"It's your tamed monster, Liora. Finish it off."
"Ugh… Okay."
Liora raised her scythe and struck the captured Red Cap. The fallen Red Cap's body vanished, and a ring dropped in its place.
I immediately appraised it.
Ring: Destiny Ring
Rarity:Rare
Skill:Luck +10
I see.
It's a ring that increases the luck stat. Since luck influences critical hit chances and damage, it's perfect for Liora, who's a front-line attacker with low attack power. Let's have her equip it.
"Liora, try putting this on."
"Oh."
She repeatedly raised her hand with the ring, showing it off happily. She seemed very pleased. I remember being excited about toy rings as a child. I'm satisfied to see Liora acting her age.
Apparently, you can equip two rings for their effects, so I'd like to collect more. So far, we've gained a poison dagger, a mimic, and a ring from this dungeon. Not bad for just one day.
We continued the exploration.
After walking for about five minutes, we reached a corner. It was dangerous, so we sent Samurai ahead. An ambushing Red Cap swung its axe at Samurai. The axe embedded in Samurai's head.
'Gyagyagya!'
The Red Cap, reveling in the kill, screamed in delight, but Samurai continued operating without issue. Despite the axe stuck in her head, she calmly restrained the Red Cap with her tentacles.
"It seems we have a horde this time."
"Let's go!"
Emerging from the corner was a horde of Red Caps. About ten of them swarmed Samurai in an instant. With Liora's Regen, Samurai showed no signs of being affected.
"[Flash]! [Head Hunt]!"
However, Liora wasn't a girl to rely on someone else. She leaped into the horde without hesitation and displayed her scythe techniques. The monsters staggered from the damage, and Liora struck with her scythe—killing everything in her sight.
