Missed Thalia

'We are finally here,' she told herself as she stepped down from the car. 

Both she and Xavier linked arms as they headed inside. 

As soon as the gatekeeper sighted the both of them, he quickly spread open the gate for the both of them to come in. 

Selene didn't recognize him— which only meant that the previous gatekeeper had already retired. 

As they strode inside, they came across a few kids playing around without a care in the world. They looked so happy despite being aware of the situation they were in.

Selene recognized most of the children but didn't recognize the others. 

"You funded this place all by yourself?" Xavier asked, a little shocked. The building wasn't huge, but it was a cozy two-story structure with enough space for the children to play both inside and outside.

He sighted some adult women, who seemed to be the ones in charge of taking care of the children and keeping the place clean.
