Chapter 146: Entertainment on the Court

At midnight on July 1st, the book will be launched. Thank you for your support and encouragement.

Amid the audience's anticipation, William dribbled the ball to the center of the court. Seeing his awkward dribbling, the crowd burst into laughter.

But before they could laugh too long, William, without any preparation, grabbed the ball and threw it. With a swish, the ball went in. William turned around, raised his hands to the audience, signaling that he made the shot and they should bow.

The audience wasn't too surprised that William made the shot since he had already made two. So, they half-heartedly bowed to William, some even jokingly performing a ceremonial bow, causing more laughter.

After the jokes, the crowd called for another shot. Unfortunately, William didn't let them down. The second, third, fourth, and fifth shots all went in, and the audience became somewhat numb. Not getting their Budweiser made them a bit unhappy, and they urged William to hurry up, not wanting to give him any rest.

They couldn't believe he would make all ten shots. When it came to the sixth shot, William thought it might be better not to be too serious. After all, this was entertainment, and the audience didn't want to see him make all the shots. William decided that sometimes a bit of clumsiness could be more endearing than showing off too much.

So, he deliberately missed the sixth shot and shook his head in feigned disappointment.

However, the audience jumped up excitedly, having already bowed five times. If he kept making shots, they would lose interest in playing with him.

"Hahaha," "He missed, finally! The first bottle!"

"Damn, finally missed. One down, keep going, guys. Don't let him rest and adjust, keep shouting."

"Right, don't let him adjust. We want more Budweiser."

"Shoot, shoot!"

Many of the front-row spectators shouted at the person fetching the ball, "Pass it quickly, buddy, you'll get Budweiser too. Hurry, don't let him adjust."

A few impatient guys ran onto the court, grabbed the ball, and passed it to William. Two others stood by with spare balls, waiting for William.

William grabbed the ball and made a helpless gesture. This time, he prepared a bit, dribbled the ball, and then shot.

The ball went in, much to the audience's disappointment. William, seeing the ball go in, put his hands on his hips, shook his head, and started doing a tap dance, shrugging and waving his hands arrogantly.

The audience, angered, cursed at him. A few spectators gathered and discussed their strategy. Four of them stepped forward, each with a ball, and shouted at William, "Hurry up, let's continue. This time you have to shoot all at once, no time to prepare or adjust."

William shrugged, looking indifferent, which made the people beside him grit their teeth.

One person immediately passed the ball to William. He caught it, shot, and it went in. Before he could smile, the second ball was passed to him. He caught it, shot, and it went in again.

But William couldn't keep smiling. When the ninth ball was passed to him, he got a bit cocky and missed the shot.

The audience, seeing the effective strategy, shouted for the next ball to be passed quickly. Sure enough, the last ball was soon in his hands. Amid the audience's shouts, William shot.

It was the last shot, and he didn't aim carefully. After all, this was for fun. Making seven out of ten was already impressive. If he made all the shots, the audience's anger might burn him.

The last ball, to the audience's delight, hit the rim and bounced out.

The audience stood up, cheering like they had won a victory, chanting "Budweiser."

Barkley, holding the microphone, walked over to William, laughing, and asked, "William, when's the Budweiser coming? I've calculated, buddy, you're going to spend a fortune today. We want the $3 cans, not bottles. Right, folks?"

William, who had thought the $3 cans were a small matter, laughed and replied, "No problem, buddy. I'll sign the check, and you can buy the beer."

Barkley, laughing, said, "Buddy, trying to get rid of me? No way. You know we're live right now. This is nothing for me. Come on, William, look at the camera."

Barkley turned to the camera and said, "Budweiser distributors in New York, can you see this? I've got a check for $160,000 in my hand. Bring the Budweiser over quickly and send an advertising fee to TNT, or next time, we'll go with Heineken. Got it? This isn't a threat; it's a notice, haha."

He then made a funny face, pretending to scare kids, and added, "I want a year's supply of free Budweiser, or I'll go to Heineken."

The audience laughed at Barkley's antics. In reality, there was no need to contact the distributor. The stadium already had beer, burgers, and cola for sale. Within a few minutes of William and Barkley's banter, the stadium staff brought over beer, burgers, and cola.

After a few more minutes of fun, the game officially began. The crowd was especially excited today, cheering every time the Knicks scored.

Although the Hawks were in a do-or-die situation, already down 0-2, and made some high-quality plays, they were ultimately swept by the Knicks. The game ended with the audience chanting the Knicks' name.

Many spectators cried with joy. Now only the Pacers stood between them and the finals again. The big screen kept showing the crying fans.

Suddenly, William noticed a very familiar face. It was a stunningly beautiful woman. Although she had her hands covering her mouth, William knew her too well to not recognize her. They had spent over a month together, and William couldn't mistake her.

He looked at the big screen, located Ambrosio, and then turned to her direction, seeing her covering her mouth and crying while looking at him.

William waved at her, making a call-me gesture, which was immediately captured by the camera. The cameraman quickly turned the lens to where William was waving, showing Ambrosio on the big screen again.

This time, Ambrosio nodded vigorously, still covering her mouth.

During the live broadcast, Kenny, who was discussing post-game predictions, suddenly heard the director's voice in his earpiece. Kenny said to the camera, "Wow, we've found something interesting at the Knicks' game. The English media has been searching for William Devonshire's girlfriend for half a year, and we've finally found her. Look at the big screen."

TV viewers saw a tall, slender, beautiful girl crying and nodding at William, occasionally waving.

Kenny's voice came on, "Wow, she's a hottie. I wonder what kind of luck William has to be favored by such a beautiful girl. Oh, the director just gave me the girl's information. Ambrosio, a Brazilian model, same age as William, just participated in the Victoria's Secret selection.

God, this girl is going to be famous. Victoria's Secret will definitely sign her for a runway show. I'm sure tomorrow's papers will be full of reports about her and William Devonshire. Truly a girl kissed by God."

Sure enough, the next day, many American newspapers featured Ambrosio and William together. Ambrosio became famous overnight in America. Victoria's Secret called her, notifying her that she had a spot in the November show and might even get wings.

Ambrosio was thrilled and became exceptionally obedient to William, no longer throwing small tantrums.
