Final Verdict

Ray, Yuki, and Mrs. Sayera Karim were escorted to another room as the court ended, and the soldier escorting them said, "Please wait for the moment. General Liu will meet you shortly."

The room was painted black, and the high placed small windows meant only a little amount of natural light got to enter the room. There was a huge round table in the middle with many chairs all around. A tablet fitted to the table in front of each seat and a huge holographic projector in the middle.

Ray went to Sayera and asked, "Mrs. Karim. Why did you lie?"

Karim sharply turned towards him and said, "What else was I supposed to do then? Let them kill you."

Ray didn't have any answers for that question. Karim continued, "You're still not free, Ray. As long as that heartless scum isn't convinced that there's no need for you to be killed, you're not safe."
