How Dare You?

(SASHA)

Dr Nicholas' announcement does shock me, but Tyler looks completely gutted.

"Why not? What's wrong?" he blurts out.

The doctor winces as he places the folder on the table. "I'm afraid we can't perform the procedure today because you are severely anaemic. Have you been feeling dizzy lately, or weak? Any fainting spells?"

Tyler swallows hard.

I gaze at him and then turn my attention to the doctor. "He's been feeling all of that. He almost fainted on our way here today."

Tyler looks at me as though I've given up his biggest secret.

"What?" I blurt out. "Is it a lie?"

"Is this a trick?" Tyler glares at me.

"What do you mean? What is a trick?"

Tyler slides off the table and approaches Dr Nicholas. "What is this? Did Sasha bribe you? Did he threaten you?"

Dr. Nicholas' eyes go wide as he holds a hand up. "Wait. What? What are you talking about?"
