I woke up slowly, blinking against the morning light streaming in through the curtains. As my eyes adjusted, I smiled, seeing Raven sleeping peacefully beside me. She had come home late last night, so late that I had already drifted off to sleep. I wondered what she had been up to, knowing her work often kept her out at odd hours.

Leaning over, I pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. Raven stirred, her eyes fluttering open, a sleepy smile spreading across her face as she woke.

"Good morning," I whispered, enjoying the way her smile deepened at my greeting.

"Morning," she replied, her voice still husky with sleep. She wrapped an arm around me, pulling me closer. "I missed you last night."

"I missed you too," I said, snuggling into her warmth. We stayed like that for a few moments, enjoying the intimacy of the early morning. It was these little moments that made everything else worthwhile.
