VALENCIA'S POV
"You said you are grateful to me for saving your life, and as you can see, with the kind of boring life I am living, I don't really have any friends. So be my friend," Shadow said, explaining a little this time.
I stood there, looking at him as if he had grown two heads, waiting for him to tell me that he was joking.
However, when he didn't, I didn't know what to say.
The genuineness in his eyes, as if every word he said about not having a friend was true, made my heart melt.
Why? Because I could feel and see myself in him for a second.
There was this one time when I was in need of friends too. Honestly, I am in need of genuine friends now too, the kind of friends with whom I can share my darkest secrets and identity.
Though I had human friends, it wasn't the same with them. I had too many secrets from them.
