• This Is Darkmount

Upon the rugged heights of Mount Telmorac, the town of Darkmount was perched.

Darkmount, although not being the capital, was the most popular town in the Fourth Wing. It was a village that appeared to have been carved from the shadows of the earth.

Its aesthetics were daunting, yet beautiful. Tall, narrow buildings with steep, slate roofs crowded together having sharp spires that pierced the overcast sky like the claws of some long-forgotten beast.

These structures looked like they had stories to tell, weathered gargoyles leered down from some of their eaves, and arched windows — some round — were veered in iron lattice.

In the cobbled, uneven streets, the scent of damp stone and ancient wood filled every corner, and the acrid smoke of countless blackened chimneys corrupted the air.

Darkmount was a place of legends. It was just a town, yes, but it had birthed most of the greatest Bearers in the Fourth Wing and even across the Continent.
