With this serpentine form, Spheris slithered through in the air, twisting like a venomous snake with his sight set on the Mogul.

This was [Serpentine Manifestation], the Influence that he had crafted from slaying the Moltenviper. Now, Spheris could take the form of a shadow snake and with the formidable strength of the body of a snake, he could ensnare opponents and crush their bones like brittle twigs.

That being said, the only person Spheris wished to crush in that moment was the Gallied Mogul.
