A sting of humiliation

"I am going to be direct with all of you. This case will not be going to trial, you all need to settle. There is no proper evidence." Detective Shao told them.

Auntie Mo opened her mouth to reject detective Shao's ruling but he raised his hand and stopped her from interfering with his words. He wanted the two families gone from his presence as quickly as possible. 

"This doctor's report that you brought is one sided evidence. In order to ascertain the extent of the damage suffered due to the attack, the assailant can also request for an independent opinion from a different doctor." 

Auntie Mo folded her lips and frowned. 

"The testimony of the witness could be considered biased judging on the ill relationship between her and the assailant as well. You two seem to be at odds with each other." 

He had already guessed that there was no love lost between Alix and her stepmother. Everything that Alix said was to be doubted.
