After Grace left Trent in the hallway, instead of going back to the ward to see Wendy and her mother, she had walked to the garden at the back of the hospital.
At least there, no one would interrupt her.
Her hands trembled as she dialed Jace's number.
"Grace?" Jace's deep voice came through the phone, immediately calming her nerves."
"Sir, I'm so sorry to bother you again, but I something urgent came up and…," Grace said, her voice wavering.
"What's wrong?" Jace asked, concern evident in his tone.
She took a deep breath and explained the situation, and how Trent had requested to speak with her before he would save Wendy's mother.
She reiterated his outrageous demand that she become his girlfriend just like she had told him when she came back from Wendy's house some days back.
Jace's silence on the other end of the line made her heart sink. When he finally spoke, his voice was tight with anger.
