Alice's voice was teary at the last part. Valerie was saddened by the extent to which Alice went to feel needed by her pack.

 Alpha Denzel was no longer inclined to allow her to make the decision. "You don't have to do this anymore," he said sternly, but Valerie asked,

"Can you demonstrate it?" She was still curious to know how it happens since she had never seen anything like it in her entire life.

 "What do I use?" Alice asked, not familiar with using her powers when there was nothing particular to use it on.

 "Use me," Burke said. Alice did not refuse. She stared at him, and her eyes rolled back like in a mindlink. Following the direction of her eyes, Burke was lifted and fell behind the chair he sat on.

 "Ouch," he groaned. It was more painful than he thought, yet he was happy that she was gifted with something special like this.
