Chapter 51

[Third Person's PoV]

Once inside the wards Lucian immediately went inside, apart from being a little dusty everything was about the same as he left it.

Lucian smiled seeing the inside and immediately started to clean everything leaving spotless. Decided to just spend the night Lucian went and stayed in his old room, where he fell asleep as soon as he laid down.

"You sure are taking your sweet time, aren't you?" Hecate asked with a bored facial expression.

Lucian just shrugged his shoulders when he realized he was summoned was more, "What can I say, I was feeling nostalgic"

"What do you mean nostalgic you were gone for a few months" Hecate said her expression turning deadpan.

"Homesick?"

"Sigh. Anyways I called you to inform you of something I forgot to mention last time, something which you specifically should pay close attention to.

Titles bear immense significance, especially within the supernatural realm. Take, for instance, the City of Magic. The title alone imparts a mystic essence to Miami, influencing its magical orientation in two distinctive ways.

Firstly, a title has the ability to amplify a specific characteristic. In the case of Miami, despite the Ley Lines being a prominent feature, the title infuses the place with an unmistakable mystical ambiance.

Secondly, a title wields profound influence, intricately connected to the collective belief in its significance. Such a title can confer limited control over a specific aspect of existence, shaped by the shared convictions of those who acknowledge its authority.

Consider the example of the 'God of Harvest.' In a world where inhabitants fervently believe in the benevolence of this deity, the god gains control over agricultural abundance.

As more people invest their faith, performing rituals and offerings to the God of Harvest, the deity's influence over crop yields and agricultural prosperity intensifies.

This forms a symbiotic relationship, where belief strengthens the god's dominion, and reciprocally, the god's benevolence reinforces the belief system of the people.

In this context, the title 'God of Harvest' derives its power not inherently, but through the collective belief of the people. The wider and more fervent the belief, the greater control the associated god has over the harvest aspect.

Precisely. The acquisition of a title's influence is not arbitrary or self-proclaimed. It relies on the acknowledgment and belief of a collective, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between the title holder and those who recognize its authority.

One cannot simply declare themselves a deity or bestow a title upon themselves; true influence arises from the genuine conviction and reverence of the community.

This dynamic ensures a more authentic and resonant connection between the entity and the aspect of existence tied to the title."

Lucian wore a pondering expression, "Wait, what does that have anything to do with me?"

Hecate gained a serious expression and looked at Lucian in the eyes, "I'm telling you this as a warning; you are undoubtedly someone who would get a lot of titles placed upon them. This warning is for you to be careful of what you do in the future, as it might influence the titles people associate with you."

Lucian gave her a weary smile, causing Hecate to sigh and facepalm, "Don't tell me you already have a title? What is it?"

"The Shadowborn Seraph."

"Okay, that isn't too bad, so you're good, and only people at the camp, I presume, know, so there's nothing to worry about."

Just as Hecate was about to snap her fingers, Lucian stopped her, "Wait! I have a question."

Hecate raised an eyebrow as she asked, "What is it?"

Lucian then summoned his black flame and asked, "What does this do?"

"Oh?" Hecate said as she saw the black flames in his hands. "They could do a lot, actually, but I'll only tell you one of them; the rest you need to research yourself.

The flames can shape-shift into shadowy constructs or weapons, materializing the user's thoughts and desires.

'Constructs and weapons, huh,' Lucian thought with the flames in his hands. He then wielded the flames to surround his forearm and turn into a gauntlet, making him smirk when he saw the design.

The tips of his fingers were pointy like claws while the rest of it was like it was set on fire.

He opened and clenched his fist before he started shaking his hand, causing flames to disperse.

"Oh, and one more thing before I wake you up; when you arrive in Miami, I'll be blocking your use of the beings in your shadow."

"What? Why?"

Hecate rolled her eyes, "You could still collect them and everything. I just won't allow you to summon them during your time there; you will just solve everything by summoning them and letting them take care of most of your obstacles. So you would never learn otherwise."

"Can I at least keep Bartholomew out?"

"Who calls a bird Bartholomew?"

Was all Lucian heard Hecate whispered before she snapped her fingers, causing him to wake up with a sigh.

Lucian, as usual, went and did his morning routine. After he was done eating his breakfast, he went down towards the forge.

And smiled to himself walking in; he has some bittersweet feelings about being in a forge.

For one, he actually enjoys working in it and creating new things, but on the other hand, he believes that if he wasn't so busy forging things, he would have spent more time with his mother.

He sighed and shook his head as these thoughts came to mind; he went and did what he came here for in the first place.

Lucian placed his hand in the middle of the forge and closed his eyes; his shadow then started to expand and started to surround the entire forge. Lucian started placing everything inside his shadow, leaving the forge completely empty.

When Lucian exited the home he looked at it one more time and smiled before summoning his Hellhound and climbing on top of it before shadow-traveling.

Lucian traveled from North Carolina to South Carolina, which was followed by him traveling to Georgia, Lucian took a break, and on the next day went down towards Florida.

As Lucian shadow traveled towards Miami and his body crossed the line into the City his shadow hellhound dispersed before his own shadow threw him out.

He did a flip in the air before landing on his feet with a bow, as if he was doing a gymnastic performance.

"Woah" Lucian muttered to himself as he felt the magical ambiance he felt, 'So this is what she meant, I can actually feel my magic better and don't have to concentrate to actually feel it'

Lucian smirked before he used shadow-equip and wore something that would make Dionysus proud.

He wore a Hawaiian shirt with short and pair of sunglasses, he adjusted on his face causing a smirk to grow on his face, "Miami here I come"
