Chris pulled out all the beast pups and placed them in order, while the attendant went out to bring in the manager of the Auction House. If it were one or two, the attendant would have been enough to make a deal with Chris, but he pulled a total of twenty-six of these beast pups.
Out of these twenty-six, fifteen of them are less than a year old and would fetch a lot more than the remaining eleven pups, which are older than a year.
The younger the beasts are, the easier it is to form a bond with them and the reason behind the high price for younger beasts. After the beasts reach a certain age, there would be almost zero chances to form a bond. So no one would try to buy an older beast unless the beast belonged to the rare category.
