That day, when God asked him whether he admitted to his mistake, he could not provide a definite response, because he himself was not clear on the answer either. Did he really fight that demon due to personal reasons rather than for the sake of the whole realm? Kalliēl could not say for sure, but his bewilderment must be apparent for His Lordship to see.

God locked him up to make him realize the answer himself. And he finally did, much to his own chagrin.
