Wanted to see you once

The court session ended. As the King left first, Magnus was quick to follow him. "Father, I would like to talk to you," Magnus said, making King Esmond halt in his way. 

Esmond turned to look at his son, an amused expression covered his face and he glanced at Russell, gesturing to him to go ahead. 

"What is it that Prince Magnus followed me right after the court ended?" King Esmond asked while resuming his walk. 

"Why did Father not decide to save Izaak last night?" Magnus straightforwardly asked. "I thought you would choose your child over Damien," he stated. 

"Damien would not have spared Izaak anyway. Do you think sacrificing Izaak was a bad choice? I think in front of the kingdom, I was forced to make a tough choice," Esmond explained to him. "However, all that would be possible if Alora weren't present there," he affirmed.
